A Honkai: Star Rail leak teased the upcoming playable characters for the second phase of its Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works collaboration. First released in Version 3.4 back in July of last year, Honkai: Star Rail released Saber as a 5-star banner character, while Archer was given to players for free, as part of its partnership with Fate/Stay Night. It also included a special event mission where the Astral Express Crew interacted with Saber and Archer, and both franchises’ worlds were seamlessly integrated into the game.
As a 5-star character, Saber in Honkai: Star Rail has been a popular choice for many teams because she’s a dependable DPS unit that does great single-unit and AoE damage. Archer’s damage-dealing effects, which can penetrate through enemies’ toughness, have also been beneficial in battles, especially in newer worlds like Amphoreus. Almost a year in, both Fate/Stay Night characters are still considered top-tier units by many Honkai: Star Rail players.

Honkai: Star Rail Leak Shows Next Set of Fate/Stay Night Characters
The Fate/Stay Night collaboration isn’t done yet as Honkai: Star Rail is set to release the second phase sometime this year. In a new leak from Full Stop Chan posted by Reddit user UltraYZU, the next playable characters in the collab will reportedly be Gilgamesh and Rin. There’s no news yet about the characters’ Paths and elements, but it is likely that they might be 5-stars like Saber and Archer. They are expected to launch in Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.3 in June of this year.
Rumored Upcoming Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night Characters
Several Honkai: Star Rail fans expressed their excitement for the rumored Fate/Stay Night characters, saying that they expect them to be as impressive as Saber and Archer. Meanwhile, others are conflicted because they wanted to pull for Blade’s new form, which is rumored to come out in Version 4.3 as well. Honkai: Star Rail is known for releasing alternate forms of its characters, with the likes of Evernight being March 7th’s 5-star form, for example. For the game’s Planarcadia arc, players are expecting more character personas, like the upcoming Silver Wolf Lv 999 and Blade SP.

How Gilgamesh and Rin Could Play in Honkai: Star Rail
In Fate/Stay Night, Rin is one of the protagonists and is Archer’s Master in the Fifth Holy Grail War. Some Honkai: Star Rail fans theorize that Rin could be a support character that would complement Archer. She could work as a Harmony character that could provide DMG or CRIT buffs to allies. Meanwhile, Gilgamesh is one of the antagonists in Fate/Stay Night and is considered the most powerful Servant in the Fifth Holy Grail War. It is highly likely that he will be a damage dealer in Honkai: Star Rail, either following the Path of The Hunt or Destruction, depending on the types of attacks he will be given in the gacha game.
The previous Fate/Stay Night event in Honkai: Star Rail featured a special Holy Grail War game mode, where the Trailblazer could participate in 1v1 showdowns against different characters and their Servants. They could also choose Noble Phantasms/Mystic Codes and Command Spells that can provide much-needed buffs. It’s possible that this game mode might return in Version 4.3, with Rin and Gilgamesh being one of the featured enemy Servants. But aside from the event, it would be interesting to see how both characters would complement existing characters, especially the Fate units. Honkai: Star Rail has already raised the bar for HoYoverse collaborations after players criticized Genshin Impact‘s crossover with the Horizon franchise, so many have high expectations for the next Fate/Stay Night phase.
