Star Trek: Resurgence, an officially-licensed adventure game set after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation, is currently in the process of being delisted from digital storefronts. According to a new Steam community post, Star Trek: Resurgence is being removed from digital platforms due to licensing issues.
Developed by Dramatic Labs, a studio founded by former Telltale developers, Star Trek: Resurgence hit PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in May 2023. Much like the majority of Telltale games, Star Trek: Resurgence‘s gameplay primarily revolves around the player making choices that impact the narrative, as well as engaging in brief quick time events and participating in some simple action sequences. Story-wise, Star Trek: Resurgence takes place after Star Trek: Nemesis, and sees players assume the role of two Starfleet officers who are tasked with escorting Ambassador Spock to a once-peaceful alien planet.
Star Trek: This One-Off Character Is Essential To The Story Of The Mirror Universe
Though she only appears in a single episode throughout the franchise, this character is more important than she might seem.
Star Trek: Resurgence is Being Delisted
On April 14, Star Trek: Resurgence‘s Steam community page received its first update since July 2024. This new post, presumably written either by developer Dramatic Labs or publisher Bruner House, said the following:
Our license to distribute Star Trek: Resurgence has come to an end, so the game will no longer be offered for sale. Existing customers can continue to access the game via their Steam library. Thanks to everyone who was able to enjoy the game! LLAP!
True to its word, Star Trek: Resurgence is no longer available to purchase on Steam. At the time of writing (April 15 at 9:30am ET), Star Trek: Resurgence is still available to purchase on the PlayStation Store, the Epic Games Store, and the Nintendo eShop, but it has been removed from the Xbox Store as well as Steam. It seems very likely that other digital storefronts will soon follow in Steam and the Xbox Store’s footsteps, meaning that fans who still wish to purchase Star Trek: Resurgence will need to do so immediately. That said, fans might still be able to find physical copies of Star Trek: Resurgence out in the wild, albeit only the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game.
Star Trek: Resurgence Was a Well-Received Adaptation
Much like its distant cousin from A Galaxy Far, Far Away, the Star Trek franchise has received countless video game adaptations over the last four decades or so. While Star Trek: Resurgence certainly wasn’t one of the most acclaimed Star Trek video game adaptations, it was still received fairly well by critics and fans.

On OpenCritic, Star Trek: Resurgence is currently sitting at a Top Critic Average of 71. Over on Steam, the game has a “Very Positive” rating after 3,029 user reviews. Generally speaking, critics and fans alike praised Star Trek: Resurgence‘s authenticity, character writing, and narrative, with many stating that the game felt like the first high-quality adaptation of the Star Trek universe in years. But on the opposite end of the spectrum, many criticized the game’s presentation and its gameplay, specifically its abundance of QTEs and minigames.
