Thanks to the Free-to-Keep Promotion, Steam users can claim, download, and keep a 2017 award-winning game forever, as long as it is claimed before July 1 at 10 am PT/1 pm ET. Steam’s latest addition to the Free-to-Keep Promotion is Tell Me Why, an episodic narrative adventure game, akin to Life is Strange, so it’s not going to be for everyone. But for those who enjoy that type of game, it has taken home multiple awards.

Tell Me Why has won Game for Impact at The Game Awards, the Beyond the Video Game and Best Narrative Design awards at the Pegases Awards, and Outstanding Video Game at the GLAAD Media Awards, alongside other honors, nominations, and wins at other award ceremonies. Part of its legacy is that this giveaway is not new: every year, for the entirety of June because it is Pride Month, Tell Me Why is offered for free on platforms like Steam and Xbox.

All the Free Games You Can Claim in June 2026

During June, Steam, Epic Games Store, Amazon Prime Gaming, and more will hand out free games. Don’t miss a single one of them.

For those who have yet to add it to the digital libraries, Tell Me Why is a narrative adventure game focused on the intimate mystery shared between now-reunited twins, Tyler and Alyson Ronan. A supernatural bond between the two allows them to explore the memories of their childhood, unpacking the true-to-life themes and choices that influenced their lives in small-town Alaska. And of course, just like any good narrative game on Steam, choices made during the story influence the twins’ relationship, the strength of their bond, and the rest of their lives.

Combined with that is a book of secrets, beautiful scenery a la Alaska, a focus on real life-like characters, all with both DONTNOD and Xbox Game Studios conducting research with cultural, mental health, and gender advocates. There is a reason it is given away for free every Pride Month, to say the least. Because of that, of course, there’s a good chance you already have Tell Me Why in your Steam digital library, but the good news is that Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion has a handful of other games right now.

Drift86, Gravity Circuit, and Tell Me Why are all completely different games. Drift86 is a simplistic racing game focused on drifting and earning points, and it’s as simple as that. Meanwhile, Gravity Circuit is a Mega Man-like game that nails the aesthetic and gameplay loops of the older, classic games in the franchise. What’s more, this Free-to-Keep promotion is to celebrate the announcement of the sequel, simply titled Gravity Circuit 2.

Overall, there have been worse offerings as part of this promotion, that’s for sure, but narrative adventure game fans and Mega Man fans are eating well between Tell Me Why and Gravity Circuit. Drift86 is also deceptively simple on the surface, as it has well over 1000 Steam reviews and sits at a pretty 90% Overall on English reviews.
