A brand-new free download is currently available on Steam, but anyone interested only has until September 29 to claim it for themselves. Steam users are treated to free giveaways on a regular basis, ensuring that PC gamers always have something new to play without paying a dime. Other times, Steam gives PC gamers free trials to enjoy, letting gamers download games and play as much as they want within a certain window.
There are multiple free Steam trials going on at the time of this writing. Ship Graveyard is free to play on Steam until September 28, with the game currently available at a steep 93% discount for those that want to add it to their collection permanently. Similarly, Squad is free to play on Steam until September 28 as well, with a 50% discount available to anyone that wants to keep playing after the free trial is over. The latest Steam freebie can be kept forever, though it does come with a notable catch of its own that PC gamers will want to be aware of when they go to claim it.
Claim Explosive Odds Supporter Pack for Free
From now until September 29 at 5:00pm CST, Steam users can claim the Explosive Odds Supporter Pack completely free of charge. The Supporter Pack comes with some extra cosmetics for the Explosive Odds base game, including the Pig Bot Hat, the Gilded Pig Bot Hat, and The Test Hat. Normally, the Explosive Odds Supporter Pack costs $1.99, so while it’s not a massive “get,” it’s hard to complain about getting something for free. The catch is that any Steam users that want to get use out of the Supporter Pack will need the Explosive Odds game itself, and that costs money.
Explosive Odds normally retails for $4.99, but it is currently enjoying a 60% discount, bringing its asking price down to $1.99. The Explosive Odds discount ends on September 28, so anyone interested in getting it at a discounted price to take advantage of the Supporter Pack freebie is running out of time to do so.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Explosive Odds was first released in 2025 and has enjoyed “Very Positive” reviews on Steam. The game is a PvP experience built for 2-4 players where players take turns defusing a bomb. Players have to choose which wire to cut, and cutting the wrong wire makes the bomb explode. Instead of simply cutting wires, players can use Uno-like abilities to give themselves an advantage, like skipping their turn, reversing the turn order, and making opponents have to cut an additional wire when they’re at bat, therefore increasing the odds that they are hit with an explosion.
In the meantime, PC gamers willing to go beyond Steam have even more free games to claim at the time of this writing. The current Epic Games Store free games are Astrea: Six Sided Oracles and Mechabellum, both of which are free until October 1 at 10:00am CST, at which point they will be replaced by the next freebies, Buried Stars and System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster.
