A Sims 4 player showed off their creativity by making Valak from The Conjuring franchise without using any custom content, or CC. Since launching in 2014, The Sims 4 has provided avid players with more tools to customize their Sims and make them accurate to their real-life appearances, as well as allow them to recreate certain characters from popular media.
Before players dive into the life simulation aspect, they spend a significant amount of time in The Sims 4‘s Create-a-Sim feature to customize their characters. This is also where they can use CCs and mods they’ve downloaded from The Gallery to further elevate their Sims’ appearances, from their hairstyles down to their outfits. The Gallery has also been beneficial for players who love doing home builds using custom furniture and appliances to complete their vision. Meanwhile, there are still many players who prefer using the default tools from the base game and expansion packs.
The Sims 4 Gets New Update for February 2026
The Sims 4 just received a much-needed fix as creators look toward a future that promises both stability and new ways to connect.
The Sims 4 Player Successfully Recreates Valak Without CC
One player who managed to recreate an iconic character in The Sims 4 without using CC was Reddit user charlelies. In a post, they shared a Sim modeled after Valak, the main antagonist in The Conjuring franchise, including the spin-off films, The Nun and Annabelle. The Valak Sim is dressed in an all-black ensemble with a head wrap, which looks similar to her distinct nun outfit from the movies. Valak also has her signature black lips and piercing yellow eyes, which The Conjuring fans will instantly recognize from the many jumpscares in the movies. Plus, the Sims 4 player managed to make Valak look even more terrifying by using the face adjustment tools to give her sunken cheeks and bruise-like details.
In the comment section, a number of fellow The Sims 4 fans complimented charlelies’ Valak recreation. Although the player didn’t share the step-by-step details of how they made Valak, one netizen surmised that “vampire skin” from the The Sims 4: Vampires expansion pack was used for the character’s pale skin. Meanwhile, another user said they wanted to see Valak and La Llorona be roommates in the game since they’re both part of the Conjuring universe.
It’s been over a decade since The Sims 4‘s release, yet it continues to bring more experiences with every new patch and expansion pack. Recently, The Sims 4 shared a roadmap of upgrades it plans to roll out throughout 2026, which will include improvements to Sim autonomy, dining and meal behavior, and fixes to crashes and data loss, among many other quality-of-life updates. The life sim title has also introduced a number of new features over the last few months, such as a scandal system and nobility mechanic in the Royalty and Legacy pack.
As The Sims 4 continues to receive updates, developer Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts are working on Project Rene and a potential fifth The Sims game. It was revealed back in January that Project Rene would officially be a mobile game that will give players a new way of playing together and socializing while exploring the game’s world. In addition, Maxis seemed to tease The Sims 5 after mentioning “the next evolution” in its message, which created some speculation that the company is developing an entirely new game apart from Project Rene. However, considering that Project Rene has been in development since around 2022, it’s possible that Maxis might be allocating most of its resources to it for now. If the company is working on The Sims 5, it might take a couple more years before fans can get their hands on it. On the bright side, it would give the developers enough time to refine the game further to provide the best gameplay experience.
