The Elder Scrolls: Echoes of Skyrim is officially here, giving fans a reason to return to the land of the Nords. The new release is part of The Elder Scrolls Online Season Two, putting the focus back on Skyrim for a limited time.
Since its release in 2014, The Elder Scrolls Online has been a constant source of new content for franchise fans to enjoy. And with no new mainline title in almost 15 years, it has been crucial to keeping the franchise relevant in the meantime. Long-running MMOs that are as active as The Elder Scrolls Online are difficult to come by – many simply do not have the longevity to maintain such a significant player base.
As per a new blog post from ZeniMax Online Studios, Elder Scrolls Online: Season Two – Echoes of Skyrim is live right now until January 27, 2027. The season brings a ton of fan-favorite Chapter and DLC content to the Elder Scrolls Online base game, as well as adding brand-new gameplay features that are completely free for all players.
As part of Season Two, the Greymoor Chapter is now part of the Elder Scrolls Online base game, giving players access to the zone, storyline, Antiquities system, and Kyne’s Aegis 12-player Trial completely free. The same is true of the Wolfhunter DLC, which introduces The Elder Scrolls Online‘s first two solo dungeons: March of Sacrifices and Moon Hunter Keep.
There are still a few months left in Elder Scrolls Online: Season Two – Echoes of Skyrim, and ZeniMax Online Studios has already revealed what players can expect from now until January 27. Later in the season, the Markarth DLC will move to Elder Scrolls Online‘s base game, further expanding the Skyrim theme. There’s also a planned Skyrim-themed Golden Pursuits campaign, and a Nowhere Vault-themed Golden Pursuits campaign coming soon.
It’s cool to see The Elder Scrolls Online going from strength to strength. With Bethesda seemingly getting a little more comfortable acknowledging the existence of The Elder Scrolls 6, and Xbox’s CEO recently teasing the title of the game, it will be interesting to see how the MMO is affected by the upcoming sequel.
