The Sims 4 has revealed that its upcoming base game update will cover so many issues that they don’t even fit in a single Laundry List post on the EA Forums platform. Despite its longevity, The Sims 4 is still a game that receives patches and hotfixes on a regular basis. Even though the game has been out for over a decade, it’s arguable that it gets more content nowadays than when it was first released. Since the base game is very close to where it should be, the developers can focus on packs and kits, along with fixing the glitches that come from the interconnectivity of the game with the DLC and new features that are made available through free updates.
On April 28, a new patch came out, mostly fixing gallery problems in The Sims 4 and issues with the marketplace, a recent feature that allows players to easily access custom content and kits. While it’s great to get some of these issues fixed, it isn’t the update that gamers were hoping for. Last week, The Sims community teased a big base game update for The Sims 4, and when players noticed that they had a download pending, they thought that it might have been released earlier as a surprise.

Next Sims 4 Update Expected to Be Huge
Even though it’s unfortunate that the major update isn’t here yet, community manager Cade has once again teased it, and it might be even more exciting than fans initially expected. On April 28, Cade shared a blog on Discord made specifically for larger game updates, saying that it might come in handy in two weeks — this hinted at the big Sims 4 update that gamers have been waiting for. A fan then responded, asking Cade if he could tease anything about it, to which he replied that, while writing the patch notes for the update, he found out that EA Forums has a 60,000-character limit for blogs.
This makes it clear that the update will be much bigger than fans anticipated. Additionally, Cade said that the Laundry List is coming next week, that a lot of bugs will be fixed, and that players can expect some surprises. There are plenty of features and changes that players want to see in The Sims 4, and hopefully, this update will bring the game one step closer to perfection.
From what was teased last week, players gathered that this would be a fully fledged update rather than just a patch to fix errors. Therefore, players can expect some free content to become available for The Sims 4 base game.

While the exact dates for the release of the Laundry List and the update haven’t come out yet, players can at least gather that they will have the Laundry List available next week and the update the week after. As for what the update’s focus will be, gamers can also get a good idea thanks to The Sims 4 quality of life roadmap. According to the roadmap blog post, the developers are focusing on autonomy, infants, and crashes in the first half of 2026.
