The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is coming to digital platforms faster than it runs through scenes in its breakneck pacing. Just about a month and a half since the movie’s theatrical release in April, Illumination and Nintendo’s animated sequel will be available on digital storefronts next week on May 19.
Universal’s announcement confirms that digital copies will feature “over one hour of exclusive behind-the-scenes bonus content featuring your favorite characters,” including the following featurettes:

If you want a physical copy of the film for your collection, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will come to Blu-ray next month on June 16. The film has lagged slightly behind its predecessor at the box office, which made over a billion dollars in theaters in 2023. The Galaxy movie has still made over $942 million in theaters thus far, which still has it as the top earner in 2026 by a large margin. Illumination and Nintendo are working on more movies in its animated Nintendo universe, with the next film coming out in 2028.
