Retro game remasters are a dime a dozen these days, but with good reason. They’re the perfect opportunity for fans of the originals to revisit their old favorites with modern design sensibilities or quality-of-life features, and they aim to introduce new audiences to games that pioneered genres and gave rise to iconic characters. These Tomb Raider remasters achieve exactly that, offering the first six titles in the series. The Tomb Raider franchise jump-started the action platformer genre and inspired games like Naughty Dog’s Uncharted games. They all come with updated visuals and performance enhancements in addition to their mechanical improvements.
For physical game collectors, both of these Deluxe Editions are beautifully packaged, and despite their oversized nature, they don’t take up too much space. The height and width of the boxes are slightly larger than regular game cases, so they should fit on your game shelf just fine. The glossy gold and brown colors really help the boxes pop, and at this price, they are great premium items for any fan of the series.
