A Sims 4 fan has made an extensive chart featuring every single career path in the game, ranking each by their weekly pay. The beloved life simulation game from Maxis offers a wide variety of things to do in the game, beyond creating a player’s dream family and home. Players can take care of pets like cats and dogs, start their own home businesses, and even create their own horse ranch within the game’s many expansion packs. However, one area that offers some of the most freedom in The Sims 4 is the many career paths available in the game.
The Sims 4 features nearly seventy different career paths a player’s Sims can follow during their playthroughs, boasting a variety of options. Each career track features branching decisions with different jobs players can choose from, with everything from traditional careers, like doctors and lawyers, to more unusual options like Secret Agent and Astronaut. Careers typically require players to focus their Sims on developing certain in-game skills, needing to meet specific requirements in order to advance their career further. Now, one dedicated fan has made a ranking of The Sims 4‘s most lucrative careers.

Jobs play a crucial role in the lives of Sims in The Sims 4, and this guide is dedicated to covering all the career-related cheats in the game.
The Sims 4 Chart Ranks Highest-Paying Careers
Reddit user Swizz_z shared their extensive list of the highest-paying career choices in the Sims 4, updated following the Royalty and Legacy expansion. The newly-added Noble career path serves as the richest job by a significant margin, with Sims earning a staggering 21,168 Simoleons per week as a Noble. Noble’s addition supplanted a pair of Military careers from the StrangerVille expansion, with both the Covert Operator and Officer careers paying a hefty 16,880 Simoleons. Stylist sits as the fourth most lucrative career in the game, earning 15,000 Simoleons per week, while the Interstellar Smuggler rounds out the Top 5 careers with 14,868 Simoleons each week.
The extensive list of careers also gives players an idea of which Sims 4 jobs they should avoid if trying to min-max their earnings in the game. Many of the lower-ranking careers include jobs available to High School Sims, with Fast Food Employee ranking lowest at just 400 Simoleons per week. The Video Game Streamer career does not rank much higher at 610 Simoleons per week, while the third-lowest spot goes to the Barista, only 10 Simoleons higher than the Streamer. Park Counselor and Park Ranger from the Adventure Awaits expansion are not ranked with the rest of the careers, given that their pay goes by shift rather than weekly.

The Sims 4‘s career options continue to expand with new jobs introduced in most expansions to the game. The previously-mentioned Park Counselor and Park Ranger were the newest additions before Noble, while July 2025’s Enchanted by Nature pack introduced the Naturopath career. Many of the game’s High School and University jobs also offer lower pay, given the expectation that the Sim is working the job part-time while also attending school within the game. Some career options, like the eSports gamer track, can also earn additional income outside the main job’s pay, earned for winning tournaments.
The Sims 4 shows no signs of slowing down, with the game still receiving expansion packs after more than a decade. Maxis recently shared a new quality-of-life roadmap for The Sims 4, with Sim autonomy, Infants, and dining and meal behavior all slated to see improvements throughout the year. The Sims 4 is also expected to get multiple new DLC packs in 2026, historically receiving two or three full-sized expansions every year. Nearly twelve years after its original PC release, The Sims 4 continues to captivate fans with its open-ended gameplay and wealth of options for players to live their dream Sim life.
