Riot Games has revealed the newest agent coming to Valorant with the launch of Season 2026 Act 2 as Miks. The award-winning competitive FPS game from the makers of League of Legends has been popular since its beta phase and has continued to be one of the most prominent esports scenes in the gaming industry. Created as a direct competitor to the iconic Counter-Strike, the biggest draw of Valorant has been the unique design of its agents and the abilities they bring.
Valorant takes the champion design and team composition concept of Riot Games’ League of Legends and combines it with the strategic team coordination and gun skills of Counter-Strike. The champions of Valorant are known as agents, and these characters are the core of its identity and usually what gets fans the most excited. Riot typically does a strong job at leveraging the popularity of Valorant‘s esports scene to generate hype around new agent reveals by revealing them at major tournaments.

Riot Games Reveals Miks as the Newest Agent Coming to Valorant in Season 2026 Act 2
Riot Games has shown off Miks as the newest agent coming to Valorant with the Season 2026 Act 2 update in March. Miks is the thirtieth agent added to the Valorant roster of characters. Miks will be the seventh controller available in the game, and the first one added in nearly two years, with the last being Clove in March 2024. He will be one of the few agents in the game who can heal allies through the use of his basic ability “M-PULSE,” which can be used as crowd control on enemies or to heal allies.

All of Miks’ design elements have to do with sound energy, and there is a large musical component to his character. The official trailer features heavy use of EDM artist Zedd’s hit 2012 song “Clarity” featuring Foxes. Miks will be available for play with the Season 2026 Act 2 update that goes live on March 18, 2026. Music characters in hero shooters are not rare, with Lucio in Overwatch and Luna Snow in Marvel Rivals.
Controllers are some of the most important agents in all of Valorant, with space-taking ultimates and vision-obscuring abilities that allow for site takes and site retakes to be much more dynamic and explosive. Still, even with their importance and prominence, it has been a while since a controller completely took over and dominated the meta. Miks offers an opportunity for controller mains to have a moment to shine.
The release of a new character is any hero shooter’s best opportunity to generate lots of media attention and bring in new or returning players. Competitors of Valorant, such as Marvel Rivals, understand this well and add new heroes at a rapid pace. Riot Games has not always done a great job of adding agents into its game at a fast rate. Every new act of Valorant doesn’t even feature a new agent, so for a game like this, it’s extra important that Riot Games hits it out of the park with a great agent who is positively received. Given the immense popularity of other aforementioned musical characters in other hero shooters, Miks definitely has a chance to become a fan favorite.
