Trading card games have always been a massive part of gaming culture, and there is something uniquely appealing about stepping away from the actual competition and running the shop where everyone comes to buy their packs. Card shops have that familiar mix of cluttered shelves, rare pulls, tournaments, regulars, and the eternal temptation to open just one more Pokemon TCG booster, and that customer/worker experience is at the heart of one of Steam’s biggest viral hits of recent years.

TCG Card Shop Simulator entered Early Access in September 2024, and now 2 years later, it is leaving with expanded features and platforms as part of its 1.0 release. The solo project from developer Ding Shen Sia has grown into one of the more recognizable simulation games on Steam, and PS5 users will finally get to play the featured TCG itself alongside the simulation game.

TCG Card Shop Simulator Finally Hitting PS5

TCG Card Shop Simulator will officially launch its 1.0 version on September 15, 2026, and the release will also bring the game to PlayStation 5 for the first time. The full 1.0 launch will be available on Steam, Xbox Series X|S (via Xbox Game Pass), PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, giving the popular card shop simulator a wider audience beyond its Early Access roots. A new trailer also accompanies the announcement (seen above), using a colorful Saturday-morning cartoon style inspired by 90s animation to capture the game’s combination of nostalgia, pack-opening excitement, and business management.

TCG Card Shop Simulator currently has 97% Overwhelmingly Positive Reviews on Steam, after over 33,000 user submissions.

The biggest addition in the 1.0 release is the long-requested playable Tetramon TCG with all card rarities to boot. Until now, the focus has largely been on running the store, stocking shelves, setting prices, opening packs, hiring employees, and turning a small shop into a successful business. With 1.0, players can actually sit down and play the fictional card game themselves, building decks from their collections and battling with the cards they have accumulated.

Not only that, but players will be able to play Tournament Mode and host competitions for NPCs while continuing to manage the wider business. There is a clear appeal in watching a tiny card shop slowly turn into a packed local destination, especially when the same cards being sold can now be collected and used in the Tetramon TCG.

Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.

After 2 years in Early Access, TCG Card Shop Simulator is finally ready to make the jump to its full release. September 15 will mark the arrival of version 1.0, while PS5, Switch, and Switch 2 players will get their first opportunity to see what made the game such a hit on other platforms. As such, it’ll be interesting to see how this management game is ultimately received by new players and if this serves as “round two” in the viral nature of the game.
