A viral game about punching through walls to escape has already seen clones popping up on Roblox, ahead of the official release of the in-development indie game. Roblox has often seen copycat games gain significant success on the popular game creation platform.
Roblox offers no shortage of different game experiences for fans with tens of millions of games players can play. Some of the platform’s most popular games have seen massive success for their creators, with games like Grow a Garden and Blox Fruits having millions of players. Roblox has also hosted a multitude of officially-sponsored game experiences throughout the years, seeing major brands like Transformers, Star Wars, and SpongeBob SquarePants appearing on the platform. Now, a viral upcoming indie game has fallen victim to clones surfacing on the platform, long before its full launch.
Viral Indie Game Escape The Walls Already Has Roblox Clones
Viral upcoming indie game Escape the Walls has already seen multiple copycat games appearing on Roblox. Many of the games appearing on the platform feature direct rip-offs of the game’s concept, punching through walls to escape, with some even being given extremely similar names to the viral game, including one titled Escape the Wall. Some Roblox creators have even confirmed that they used AI to assist with creating their clones of Escape the Walls, citing assistance from AI programs like Claude to create the clone games. Escape The Walls has only recently been added to Steam for wishlisting, with its Steam page going live on October 18.
The surge of Roblox clones appeared less than a week after developer Pandorio Games revealed its latest title. The indie studio showed off its first gameplay of Escape the Walls on October 14, sharing its simple premise of punching through walls and picking up rubble to escape a prison-like chamber. Pandorio Games has largely been a mobile game developer since the studio’s foundation, only launching its first Steam demo in early October for co-op physics game Caravan Bazar. Pandorio has not made any official comment about the Roblox clones.
While Roblox has gotten some flak from fans for its litany of copycat games, the platform has seen plenty of success stories. The previously mentioned Grow a Garden saw an explosion in popularity in 2025, with tens of millions of players flocking to the laid-back farming sim. The game achieved such monumental success during the summer of 2025 that Grow a Garden had more active players than Fortnite at the peak of the farming game’s popularity. Grow a Garden has continued to receive consistent updates as well, adding new crops, farm animals, and much more to the game.
Roblox‘s sustained growth as one of gaming’s most popular platforms has seen it collaborate with some major brands. Fortnite officially added a crossover with popular Roblox horror game 99 Nights in the Forest as part of the shooter’s Override Season, including a skin based on The Deer and a game mode inspired by the Roblox game. Roblox also welcomed the debut of Masters of the Universe: Battle for Greyskull as an official Roblox crossover with He-Man, allowing players to visit iconic locations throughout Eternia. A plethora of unique game experiences continue to give fans plenty of reasons to boot up Roblox.
