World of Warcraft Classic fans can earn the Voidfeather Dragonhawk mount by completing the Midnight intro scenario from now until May 16. Simply by completing the first quests of Midnight, World of Warcraft players on The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary realms can pick up a brand-new flying mount.

To celebrate World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary, Blizzard kicked off a new set of Classic servers. Called the World of Warcraft Classic Anniversary realms, or simply Classic Fresh, these servers recently transitioned from Vanilla WoW into The Burning Crusade. Meanwhile, modern World of Warcraft just launched Midnight, the second expansion of the Worldsoul Saga.

World of Warcraft: Midnight Makes Big Change To Flying

Blizzard makes a massive adjustment to flying in World of Warcraft, one of the fastest and most preferred methods of traveling across Azeroth.

Now, these two releases are colliding in an exciting way. To celebrate the start of World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 1, Blizzard has officially begun a promotion for Classic Fresh fans. Anyone who earns the “Echoes of Midnight” achievement by completing the starting scenario of Midnight from now until May 16 at 10 AM PT will earn the Voidfeather Dragonhawk, a flying mount for WoW Classic’s Anniversary realms. The mount uses the Classic Dragonhawk model, but with Midnight‘s blue Void corruption in a never-before-seen combination.

Here’s how players can earn the Voidfeather Dragonhawk mount for characters in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary realms:

  • Purchase World of Warcraft: Midnight.
  • Reach level 80 on a modern WoW character.
  • Complete the Midnight intro scenario to earn the “Echoes of Midnight” achievement.
    • The questline begins at the glowing projection of Lady Liadrin in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Dornogal.
  • Log in to a World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition character.
  • Pick up the Voidfeather Dragonhawk quest from any major city’s innkeeper or from Landro Longshot in Booty Bay.

Other Active World of Warcraft Promotions

Completing “Echoes of Midnight” unlocks several rewards for other Blizzard games as well. The Devourer Genji skin for Overwatch, the Crimson War Bear Epic mount for Heroes of the Storm, and the Bawkhaus pet for Diablo 4 will also automatically be earned by players who complete the Midnight intro. Unlike the Voidfeather Dragonhawk, there does not appear to be a cutoff point for these rewards, though that could change in the future.

While they are playing modern WoW, fans can also complete the “Welcome Home” intro for Housing. Doing so takes only a few minutes and will unlock the Xal’atath Symmetra skin and matching cosmetics for Overwatch, the Hearth & Home Card Back for Hearthstone, Horde- and Alliance-themed console skins for StarCraft 2, and the Sin’dorei Portal for Diablo Immortal.

World of Warcraft is also crossing over with Pinterest via image integration and a new toy. Additionally, in the World of Warcraft x Zillow promotion, players can enjoy a charming website with faux house listings, as well as two Housing decor items fans can obtain: the Naturally Elegant Doormat and the Simply Adorned Vase and Flowers.

Unfortunately, at least two of these promotions are region-locked. The first is another US-only World of Warcraft x Trolli crossover, in which players can earn the Gummi the Glow Wyrm pet by buying a qualifying candy product. The second was a German-only Pringles promo that awarded the Thunder-Ridged Elekk mount. While the former is unlimited and features codes redeemable in any region, the latter only had 3,000 codes that were quickly claimed by scalpers, ruining an otherwise exciting event. Luckily, World of Warcraft is working on ways to alleviate the situation and has promised to bring this and all other region-locked promotional mounts to the Trading Post at some point.
