World of Warcraft’s Most Controversial Mount is Back for a Limited Time

The $90 Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur has returned to the World of Warcraft cash shop once more. One of the most divisive mounts in history, the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur is available now through January 5 for World of Warcraft players who have particularly deep pockets.

As a part of its 20th anniversary celebrations last year, World of Warcraft released the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur, a cash shop mount that came with a mailbox and auctioneer at the steep price of $90. This exorbitant cost earned the mount no small amount of criticism from fans – and yet, it quickly became the most lucrative item in the store, with Blizzard earning an estimated $15 million during its first run.

$90 Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur Back in WoW Until January 5

Now, this controversial mount has returned to the World of Warcraft cash shop once more for a limited time. After text strings in the World of Warcraft alpha suggested this mount’s return, the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur is officially back in the shop from now until January 5, offering a second chance to pick up this exclusive premium mount. Like last year, the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur is available for $90 and will be sure to spark no shortage of drama as they begin appearing in the game once again.

Gamers interested in the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur, but who are short on cash, can technically buy it with in-game gold via WoW Tokens. The current average price for this digital currency, which equals $20 of Battle.net balance, is 360,000 gold, though the price varies by region. This means players can buy the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur for around 1,300,000 Gold – technically still less than the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur, the mount’s now-unavailable predecessor that cost five million Gold before it was removed from the market in Shadowlands. However, this new mount is sure to spike the price of WoW Tokens, so fans hoping to make use of this method should act quickly.

Interestingly enough, the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur is the same price as the Epic Edition of World of Warcraft: Midnight. Buying this premium edition will not only grant fans access to the new expansion when it releases, but also several transmogs, pets, flying mounts, Trader’s Tender, and even access to the ongoing beta for World of Warcraft: Midnight.

Luckily, there is plenty of stuff for players to do to celebrate the 21st anniversary of World of Warcraft in-game without visiting the cash shop. Many of the rewards and activities from last year’s celebrations have returned, along with the new Loyal Watchman transmog ensemble and the Khaz Algar Enthusiast title. Fans will have until December 7 to enjoy the festivities, after which they will be able to access World of Warcraft Patch 11.2.7 and Housing early access, launching near the end of the event on December 2.
