A July 17 update to the Xbox Game Pass catalog has introduced two new day-one titles, including sci-fi roguelike Fogpiercer. The arrivals mark the subscription service’s first day with multiple releases since mid-June 2026, signaling that the Xbox Game Pass content rollout is accelerating again after its usual early-summer slowdown.

The second game from Slovakia-based Mad Cookies Studio, Fogpiercer is a deck-building roguelike in which players command a train carrying humanity’s future. Gameplay involves choosing routes, building and upgrading compartments, and engaging in turn-based battles against enemies seeking to derail the train. The game’s science-fiction premise openly draws inspiration from Jacques Lob’s graphic novel series Snowpiercer, while its combat emphasizes careful planning and effective synergies.

Fogpiercer Debuts on Xbox Game Pass Alongside FixForce

Fogpiercer launched on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on July 17. Its day-one debut on Microsoft’s subscription service coincides with the arrival of FixForce. Developed by London-incorporated Surgent Studios, FixForce is a co-op extraction platformer with a bright, Frutiger Aero-like aesthetic. It originally released as a PC-only early access title in March 2026, with its Xbox Game Pass launch arriving on the same day as its Series X/S port and 1.0 update.

While Fogpiercer is currently exclusive to PC, FixForce is also available on the Xbox Series X/S. Both games are listed as optimized for handheld PCs, but only FixForce supports Xbox Cloud Gaming. Fogpiercer is expected to gain cloud-streaming support when its console version launches, as the service runs on modified Xbox Series X/S hardware. The additions of FixForce and Fogpiercer mark the first time in over a month that Microsoft’s subscription catalog has gained at least two brand-new titles in a single day. Most recently, Beastro, Frog Sqwad, and Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions joined Xbox Game Pass on June 11.

The next catalog update is scheduled for July 21, when the co-op terraforming sandbox The Planet Crafter is set to join Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft will likely confirm the Wave 2 lineup for July 2026 on the same day, in keeping with its recent practice of making such announcements on the third Tuesday of the month.

The next batch of Xbox Game Pass games is already known to include two titles. One of them is the Halo: Campaign Evolved remake, which was recently scheduled for July 28. The other is the co-op detective game Shift at Midnight, which was previously targeting a June 17 debut but ended up being delayed to July 22.
