The latest Xbox Game Pass catalog update introduces BlazBlue Entropy Effect X and Roadside Research, both of which are available to play as of February 12. The two day-one releases mark the 10th and 11th titles to join Microsoft’s subscription service in February 2026, bringing the total number of this year’s Xbox Game Pass additions to 29.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect X is a side-scrolling action roguelite set in Arc System Works’ ever-expanding BlazBlue universe. Developed by 91Act, it’s an enhanced edition of BlazBlue Entropy Effect, which was initially released for PC and mobile devices in August 2023. It expands on the original game with the addition of a new story scenario and playable character in Naoto Kurogane. Its initial critical reception has been overwhelmingly positive, as underlined by BlazBlue Entropy Effect X‘s “Mighty” rating on OpenCritic, with an average score of 85 and a 92% reviewer recommendation rate.

Xbox Game Pass Confirms Another Day-One Game for March 5

Xbox Game Pass confirms its third day-one release for March 2026, which will arrive in the form of a sequel to a critically acclaimed 2023 title.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect X Joins Xbox Game Pass Alongside Roadside Research

BlazBlue Entropy Effect X launched across all current-gen consoles on February 12, when it also joined Xbox Game Pass. It arrives alongside Roadside Research, a new early access title developed by Cybernetic Walrus. The game is a gas station simulator with a sci-fi twist: players control aliens conducting experiments on humans while using the gas station as a front. To avoid drawing the attention of government agents who can turn them into goo, they must maintain the appearance of a legitimate business. In addition to solo play, Roadside Research supports co-op multiplayer for up to four players, thus expanding the Xbox Game Pass co-op library.

Both Roadside Research and BlazBlue Entropy Effect X are only available via PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as of right now. While they could be added to the service’s Premium tier as early as the second half of 2026, Microsoft does not provide a fixed timeline for bringing third-party XGP Ultimate games to XGP Premium. More predictable release patterns typically apply only to titles developed and published by Microsoft’s own studios.

According to the latest Xbox Game Pass lineup announcement, February 12 was also supposed to be the day that Starsand Island joins the service. However, the cozy Stardew Valley-like title ended up reaching Xbox Game Pass a day early. This was not the only unexpected release on February 11, which also marked the arrival of Diablo 2: Resurrected, now available across every non-Essential tier.

Xbox Game Pass has another dual release scheduled for February 13, when High on Life 2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance are set to join its library. The next catalog update is planned for February 15 and will mark a relatively light round of bi-monthly departures, with only one title—Madden NFL 24—leaving the service. The platform is then set to add Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on February 17, which is also when it’s likely to formally confirm its Wave 2 lineup for the month.
