The latest Xbox Game Pass update has introduced Tiny Bookshop, expanding the service’s ever-growing catalog of cozy titles. The acclaimed management sim arrives as the fifth new addition of April 2026 and the 59th Xbox Game Pass release since the turn of the year.
Developed by German studio Neoludic Games, Tiny Bookshop is a 2025 game about leaving everything behind and starting a modest bookmobile specializing in selling second-hand books in the cozy seaside town of Bookstonbury. Its gameplay centers on stocking books and trinkets, arranging shop decor in order to optimize for certain customers, and give book recommendations to locals. As this management loop goes on, the game gradually reveals bits and pieces of lore about the town’s history, thus offering narrative motivation for continuing. Thanks to its hand-drawn graphics, gentle music, and cozy vibes, Tiny Bookshop has earned a reputation as a great game for relaxing.

Tiny Bookshop Lands on Xbox Game Pass Alongside Its Series X/S Port’s Debut
Originally released for PC and the Nintendo Switch, Tiny Bookshop is also available on the Xbox Series X/S beginning today, April 10. As previously announced, it is now also available on Xbox Game Pass, having joined three of its tiers, covering all of them except for the entry-level Essential catalog. Apart from the Xbox Series X/S and PC, Neoludic’s management sim can also be played via Xbox Cloud Gaming and carries a handheld-optimized label on the Xbox Store. Its arrival bolsters the ever-expanding selection of cozy titles on Xbox Game Pass.
Tiny Bookshop launched to predominantly positive buzz in August 2025, as reflected in its “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, based on 45 reviews with an 84% recommendation rate and an average score of 82. It also amassed nearly 4,300 “Overwhelmingly Positive” user reviews on Steam as of April 2026. As far as cozy games with soothing music go, it is one of the highest-rated releases in recent years.

Xbox Game Pass is confirmed to be getting at least eight more titles before the end of April, with five of them being day-one releases. That group includes cyberpunk action platformer Replaced, pottery multiplayer brawler Kiln, sci-fi adventure Aphelion, and a turn-based deck-builder Vampire Crawlers, coming from the developer of the genre-defining Vampire Survivors. Hades 2 is another upcoming Xbox Game Pass arrival which, like Tiny Bookshop, can be classified as a day-one title on account of its upcoming Series X/S version, even though it has already launched on PC.

Another forthcoming catalog change is the next wave of regular removals, which happen every 15 days and will next occur on April 15, Grand Theft Auto 5 and four other titles will leave the service. The Wave 2 Xbox Game Pass lineup for April 2026 is expected to be revealed on or around April 21, based on Microsoft’s recent announcement patterns.
