The latest Xbox Game Pass update has added Persona 3 Reload to Microsoft’s vast subscription catalog. This day-one release is the first addition to Xbox Game Pass in February 2024.
To say that Microsoft’s subscription service started the year on a high note would be an understatement; with over a dozen new titles, including a trio of day-one releases, January 2024 has been a huge month for Xbox Game Pass. And while last month’s roadmap wasn’t lacking in AAA titles, the newest such addition to the service was the 2020 Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In contrast, Persona 3 Reload is the first 2024 AAA game to reach Xbox Game Pass on day one.
One of Last Year’s Best Xbox Game Pass Games Gets Free New Content
One of Xbox Game Pass’ biggest hits of 2023 releases a new update that gives players free content, fixes various bugs, and more.
The remake of the third Persona game was added to Microsoft’s subscription library a few minutes ahead of its global release, which occurred on February 2, at midnight ET. As per usual, Microsoft’s subscribers get to play the base version of the RPG, which is regularly priced at $69.99. But unlike many other modern releases, the day-one DLC for Persona 3 Reload exclusively consists of cosmetic fan service, so Xbox Game Pass members are already getting the complete experience out of the box.
New Xbox Game Pass Games for February 2024 List
- Persona 3 Reload – February 2
- Anuchard – February 6
- A Little to the Left – February 15
- PlateUp – February 15
The latest Atlus RPG is also part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program, allowing users to seamlessly switch between the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game, thanks to cross-platform saves. This is also the second entry in the beloved franchise to reach Microsoft’s subscription service on day one in recent months, arriving shortly after Persona 5 Tactica debuted on Xbox Game Pass back in November.
Persona 3 Reload Is Getting Rave Reviews
And while Tactica was met with fairly positive reviews, the critical reception of the Persona 3 remake has so far been nothing short of stellar; the game’s PC and PS5 versions currently boast an 89 Metascore on Metacritic, based on 76 ratings, while the Xbox Series X/S version holds an impressive average of 86 from 25 critics. Many reviewers praised Persona 3 Reload for its faithful recreation of the 2006 classic that feels fresh to the fans of the original while simultaneously delivering an accessible experience for newcomers.
As was the case with Persona 3, a single playthrough of Reload will easily take over 70 hours, while a completionist run will be in the ballpark of 100 hours. That sheer volume of content should be more than enough to keep JRPG fans with Xbox Game Pass memberships busy until the second half of February, when Microsoft is expected to add some yet-to-be-announced titles to its subscription catalog. In the meantime, the next confirmed Xbox Game Pass expansion is scheduled for February 6, when the platform is set to add the adorable indie ARPG Anuchard.
