Kiln is now available on Xbox Game Pass, having joined two tiers of the service on April 23. This day-one release marks the 12th new title to join the service in April 2026 and the 66th addition to the Xbox Game Pass catalog since the start of the year.

Officially announced in January 2026, Kiln is the latest title from Double Fine Productions, Microsoft’s award-winning studio whose varied portfolio includes everything from Psychonauts and Brutal Legend to Broken Age and Costume Quest. At its core, it is a multiplayer brawler with an original twist: players control pots they create themselves. Because different vessel shapes and sizes receive different abilities, the game’s pottery phase has a direct effect on the battles that follow. For players less interested in that aspect, Double Fine has made the process accessible and easy to move through quickly before getting to the action.

Kiln Joins Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass

Double Fine’s newest title officially launched for PC and Xbox consoles earlier today, April 23, at 11 a.m. EDT. Like any other modern release from an Xbox-owned studio, Kiln is a day-one addition to the Xbox Game Pass catalog, now available to PC Game Pass and XGP Ultimate users. Based on Microsoft’s prior commitments, the pottery party brawler is likely to reach the Premium tier of the service between October 2026 and April 2027, as most first-party Xbox games tend to do.

Kiln adds $19.99 to the total value of the current Xbox Game Pass catalog. It also technically has two day-one DLC packs, though both are cosmetic and cannot be purchased separately, as they are available only to owners of the $29.99 Fired Up Edition. As is typical, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can pay to upgrade beyond the standard edition. The game itself has no microtransactions and, although it is a multiplayer-only title with unlockable cosmetics, the currency used to obtain them can only be earned through gameplay.

The Xbox Game Pass Wave 2 lineup for April 2026 has five more titles that are yet to be released. Of those, the 2023 first-person shooter Trepang2 is the only one that is not a day-one release. The others include the sci-fi adventure Aphelion, Sledding Game, and the vehicular combat title TerraTech Legion. Also included is Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, the first new HoMM game in more than a decade, which is due to arrive on April 30, the same day TerraTech Legion and Sledding Game debut.
