Xbox Game Pass subscribers have nine new games that they can look forward to checking out in May 2026. Xbox Game Pass has undergone some dramatic changes in the last year. The end of 2025 saw Microsoft announce a significant Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price increase — a move that caused so many people to rush to cancel their subscriptions that it literally crashed the website.
The new Xbox CEO has walked back the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price increase, bringing it down by about $7 to $22.99. This came at the cost of Call of Duty being a day one Xbox Game Pass game, but subscribers can at least expect entries in the franchise to hit the service about a year after their initial launch. As far as new games coming in the more immediate future, there are at least nine games on deck for Xbox Game Pass in May 2026 so far.

The recent ID@Xbox had featured a lot of great indie games to look forward to, and these are all the titles coming to Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers should keep in mind that the full lineup for May 2026 has not been announced yet, but the nine titles confirmed so far are the pixel remaster of Final Fantasy 5 coming on May 5, Mixtape coming on May 7, Call of the Elder Gods dropping on May 12, Forza Horizon 6 releasing on May 19, Beastro launching on May 21, Echo Generation 2 coming on May 27, and Crashout Crew releasing on May 28. RV There Yet? and Subnautica 2‘s early access release are both coming in May 2026 as well, but specific dates have yet to be announced.
Out of the nine games confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in May 2026, a whopping eight are brand-new, day one releases. The headliner has to be Forza Horizon 6, though, which will likely be yet another critically-acclaimed open world racing game from developer Playground Games. Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan (something fans have been asking to see for years) and everything we’ve seen from it so far has looked incredibly impressive, so it alone should make May a good month for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
As usual, the day one Xbox Game Pass games will be exclusive to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, so those signed up for the lower tiers shouldn’t expect to be able to play the bulk of the new games coming in May 2026. We do know that Final Fantasy 5 will be available on the Premium tier of Xbox Game Pass, so subscribers have that to look forward to at least.

In the meantime, Xbox Game Pass subscribers still have some games to look forward to in April 2026. Aphelion is a sci-fi adventure game from developer Don’t Nod that will join Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on April 28, with Trepang2 coming on April 29, and the month ending with Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, Sledding Game, and TerraTech Legion all joining the service on April 30.
