Xbox has made three games completely free to download and play for the weekend, with each game available until August 2 and only one requiring any form of Xbox Game Pass subscription. Xbox’s Free Play Days promotion is a tad underrated, as it often lets players check out games for free and pick them up cheap if they decide they like them. Xbox Free Play Days made GTA Online available to everyone recently after all.
The easiest way to claim these Xbox games is via an Xbox console (although links to the Xbox Store are provided below for convenience). To do so, Xbox owners navigate to the Xbox Store, click on the Subscriptions tab, and scroll down to the Free Play Days collection.
Xbox Free Play Days List (July 30-August 2)
The Xbox Free Play Days games for July 30 through August 2 are WWE 2K26 and Wildgate, which are available to everyone, and Polterguys: Possession Party, which does require some form of Xbox Game Pass. Each game is available until the end of this free game promotion (which isn’t always the case). Discounts are also available throughout the promotion, should someone wish to purchase and keep these games. Further details on each game are below, to help players decide which ones they’ll check out during this free weekend period.

Polterguys: Possession Party
Polterguys is a chaotic multiplayer party game where up to four mischievous ghosts scramble to survive while a deadly monster hunts everyone down. Matches are built around physics-driven levels packed with traps, power-ups, and everyday objects that players can possess to fight back, escape danger, or sabotage their friends at the perfect moment. WWE 2K26, with the beloved CM Punk on the key art, gives wrestling fans a chance to jump into the latest entry in the long-running series at no extra cost. It’s hard to imagine Xbox Free Play Days not working with WWE on this giveaway, given that SummerSlam is also taking place on August 1-August 2. It’s the perfect addition for the event, letting fans check out CM Punk’s Showcase, new MyRise storylines, new match types, and all the available game modes like MyGM, MyFaction, and The Island.

Wildgate
Last but certainly not least, Wildgate is a fun PvEvP multiplayer shooter on Xbox that offers a different take on space combat. Crews compete across multiple modes, whether that’s racing to steal a powerful Artifact, battling in large-scale Fleet Battles with up to 24 players, or scavenging treasure before making a daring escape. Every match takes place across a procedurally generated galaxy filled with cosmic storms, alien ruins, and dangerous creatures, while players must keep their ship fueled, armed, and repaired as they sabotage rival crews and fight to make it home with the loot. In other words, a lot happens at once, but that’s what makes Wildgate so fun.
