All eyes are on Xbox’s June Showcase, which is set to go live in less than an hour. That extra attention is partly because of the expected game reveals and deep dives into upcoming releases on the console platform’s 25th anniversary. But the other reason is to see how Microsoft decides to handle first-party exclusivity moving forward. Will Gears of War: E-Day be available on PlayStation 5 at some point? Or has the tech giant decided to yank that port at the last minute?

The latter is what Giant Bomb host Jeff Grubb claimed happened during last night’s Giant Bomb Couch livestream. Despite Gears being rated for PS5 and a Walmart placeholder listing even appearing online, the rumor now is that new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma may have decided to pivot last-minute to give the console’s most diehard fans a long-sought-after win.

You can watch the full Xbox 2026 summer showcase starting at 1:00 p.m. ET on June 7 below:

Exclusivity drama and first-party games aren’t the only things to look out for at the show. These press conferences also pride themselves on snagging exclusive reveals for big third-party games. One of those reveals that all of the leaks have been pointing to in recent weeks is Persona 6. Xbox has been getting a lot cozier with Sega, and Atlus’ next RPG is expected to appear during today’s showcase.

We’ll no doubt also get a lot of news about what new releases from the second half of this year will be coming to Game Pass, as well as updates on first-party games we haven’t heard from in a while. Those include stuff like State of Decay 3 from Undead Labs and, my personal most anticipated upcoming Xbox game, Clockwork Revolution from inXile Entertainment. The event will also be Sharma’s first time presenting Xbox on the Summer Game Fest circuit, and the first showcase in years that won’t be helmed by her predecessor, Phil Spencer.

Let us know what you’re hoping to see from the livestream and what you end up grading it in the comments below!
