Yakuza: Like a Dragon features a dynamic job system reminiscent of classic RPGs, enabling players to assign different roles to hero Kasuga Ichiban and his fellow party members. This system is designed to enhance the adventure by allowing flexibility in choosing the most effective roles for each team member. Each job not only comes with its own set of unique abilities but also encourages players to experiment with various playstyles, crafting a team that aligns with their preferences.
An intriguing aspect of this job system is the unique outfits that come with each role, changing the character’s appearance when they are assigned to that job. For players looking to further customize their characters, there are paid DLC bundles available. These bundles include additional costumes that specific characters can wear, irrespective of their current job. Here is a guide on how players can change the outfits of Ichiban and his party members in Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon doesn’t have many curveballs, but it can still present newcomers with problems.
How to Change Outfits in Yakuza: Like a Dragon
Changing outfits becomes an option only after reaching Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s Chapter 5. This is when Ichiban and the party gain access to Hello Work, where they can switch from their base jobs. At Hello Work, players can select different skins for each job or opt to dress characters in DLC outfits, which are not restricted by the current job. However, it is important to note that the DLC outfits are character-specific, except for the Ono Michio head, which can be worn by all party members.
How to Change a Party Member’s Outfits at Hello Work
A character’s appearance can only be changed by visiting Hello Work, and players must return to the location any time they wish to make changes to their current appearance. To change a character’s job or outfit at Hello Work, follow these steps:
- Take a cab to the Commercial District and head inside Hello Work.
- Speak with Ririka at the front desk inside the office.
- Select a character and then a job. Players can choose to retain their current job.
- In the subsequent menu, players can select the desired outfit.
It’s important to note that job-specific outfits can only be worn while playing as that particular job, even if the character has experience in that job from a previous assignment.
Initially, the job-specific and DLC outfits are visible only during battle sequences. Outside of battle, characters will revert to wearing their default clothing. However, upon completing the game, players can choose to have the outfits displayed outside of combat as well. To toggle the display of special outfits while outside of combat, head back to Hello Work and follow the same process as before:
- Speak with Ririka at the front desk.
- Select the character, job, and then the outfit.
- A new dialogue box will appear, giving players the option to wear the selected outfit outside of battle.
Changing jobs in Yakuza: Like a Dragon isn’t just about aesthetics; it plays a strategic role. Spending time in different jobs allows characters to learn new abilities that remain even after switching jobs. However, not all jobs are immediately available to every character. Unlocking additional jobs requires meeting certain prerequisites, such as specific Character and Bond Levels. There are also gender-specific jobs, such as “Idol” for female characters and “Bodyguard” for males.
