World of Warcraft: Forever’s character creation and name reservations are now live, letting you save some time on launch day by making your characters now rather than on launch day.
To access name reservations, you’ll need to have Forever preinstalled on Battle.net and have purchased at least the $30 Skyborne Heroic Pack, which grants access to the game’s new optional playable race, the Skyborne elves. Once you’ve done that, you can simply log into the game, select the ruleset you want to play on, and create your characters.
You can create and name up to three characters ahead of launch day. Unlike in other versions of developer Blizzard’s MMORPG, Forever requires both a first name and last name for characters, giving you more options and creative freedom when it comes to names.
When making a character, make sure you create them on the server ruleset you intend to play on. Once the game is live, Blizzard said there won’t be a way to transfer characters to different rulesets. It’s also worth noting that on player vs. player rulesets, you will only be able to create characters of a single faction on that specific ruleset, so make your choice of Alliance or Horde wisely.
One might think with the game’s beta over and around a week to go until Forever’s release that Blizzard is slowing down its communication. Instead, Blizzard is releasing all kinds of Forever news and updates, including major changes to racial abilities, promises to improve its controversial layering system, and the last-minute addition of another server option.
In case you weren’t excited enough, Blizzard additionally just dropped a Forever PvP-focused animated music video to hype you up even more. The trailer shows a battle between the Horde and Alliance amidst a nu-metal soundtrack performed by vocalists Amy Lee, Poppy, and Courtney LaPlante.
Forever launches November 4 on PC and for the first time in WoW history will be fully playable on a controller.
