A space-themed city-builder called Terraspace is free to keep for PC users until October 27. Terraspace entered early access on the Epic Games Store in 2024 before later arriving on Steam as well. To be clear, Terraspace hasn’t received many positive reviews from PC users, but at $0.00, it could be worth checking out for fans of the genre.
Developer Black Apple describes Terraspace as “an exciting journey through the galaxy and building a spaceship that will help you move to another planet.” Every time players successfully conquer a planet and build the coveted rocket, they move to another map with seemingly randomized resources. And this is where Terraspace both shines and gets criticized.
Save 100% on Terraspace via the Epic Games Store
Typically priced at $6.99 USD, Terraspace is currently discounted by 100% on the Epic Games Store, allowing PC users to claim it for free until October 27 at around 04:30 PM EDT. As a cozy space simulation game, Terraspace lets players build their own colonies on different planets and use astronauts to automate mundane tasks. Terraspace is also a resource management game, as surviving in harsh intergalactic environments requires players to collect the right amounts of essential supplies like water and fuel.

One of the biggest criticisms the game has received is tied to its resource management mechanics. Some players have pointed out that randomized planet seeds and resource spawns are not balanced, leaving some maps so barren that survival becomes impossible. Now, these are the kinds of issues that are common among tiny indie games and could normally be fixed with small updates and a few adjustments. Interestingly, Terraspace‘s Steam update history shows a patch released in June 2025 with “fixed balance for ease of play” listed in the notes. This could mean that some of the issues previous players have pointed out have since been addressed.

Terraspace isn’t the only free game available on the Epic Games Store right now. Starting October 22, PC users can also claim two other titles, Home – A Unique Horror Adventure and Sker Ritual, at no additional cost. Those games will be available until October 29. Speaking of weekly EGS promotions, fans should note that Terraspace‘s discount is not part of the official lineup and is not being offered by the storefront itself. Instead, it’s a developer-initiated promotion.
Steam currently has no active free-to-keep game promotions. However, that doesn’t mean it has no lucrative opportunities for freebie lovers. Recently, a first-person shooter called Cyberfrags ’69 dropped its $3.99 price tag and became free for all users. Another top-down shooter, Shenaniguns, has also become free to claim on Steam after previously selling for around $7.
