Developer Mikko explained, “The main reason for this change is very low sales.” He noted that while he never expected to make a huge profit from the game, he initially released it as a paid title to learn how Steam’s publishing process works. It is also worth noting that Phobos Down was designed specifically with the Steam Deck in mind, and according to the developer, it runs great on the device.
