A retro-style indie simulation game called Happiness Market is free to keep for PC users on the Epic Games Store until August 14. While this is not a massive saving, considering the title normally costs less than a dollar, those looking to expand their Epic Games Store library while having something fun and nostalgic to play this weekend should definitely grab it before it’s gone.
Happiness Market, as the name suggests, is a feel-good, casual indie game with no pressure. It was originally released in 2023 by developer Luolei, and it is safe to say that it never really took off, instead getting overshadowed by the flood of indie games released every year. The current free-to-keep promotion might, therefore, give it a second chance to reach a larger audience.
Happiness Market Is a 2D Business Management Sim, And You Can Claim It at No Cost
Until August 14 at 06:00 PM, Epic Games Store users can grab the $0.99 Happiness Market completely free of charge. It is a very minimalist city-builder-style game where players manage and expand a supermarket. Their duties involve restocking shelves, building new areas, adding new machines and aisles, and protecting the store from ill-willed NPCs. Most actions are performed with simple clicks, making Happiness Market an incredibly casual and idle-esque game for players’ leisure time.

The Epic Games Store’s official lineup of freebies has also been revealed for the first and second weeks of August. Players have until August 13 to claim them before the storefront starts its next freebie promotion, which is a cozy game called Caravan SandWitch.
More Freebies for PC Gamers in August 2026
Happiness Market isn’t the only free-to-keep promotion coming straight from the EGS devs. In fact, another game called Project First Contact is also 100% free on the store until August 17. Unlike Happiness Market‘s cozy and casual vibes, though, Project First Contact is an intense, first-person horror experience about UFO sightings and extraterrestrial threats.
Interestingly, Ubisoft is also giving away a Tom Clancy‘s game for free this August. As reported by GameRant’s Joshua Dockworth, players have until August 13 to claim Ghost Recon: Future Soldier for free on the Ubisoft Connect app, making it one of the best deals this month. On the other hand, Steam is also currently giving away Breathedge and Moonlighter, but both promotions will end soon on August 9, so fans need to act fast if they don’t want to miss out. In the coming days, Steam is also expected to host a free-to-keep promotion for a classic point-and-click game called Deponia.
