An official spokesperson for MrBeast, who holds the record for the most subscribers in YouTube’s history, has decried the allegations as completely false.
MrBeast, real name James “Jimmy” Donaldson, is one of the most successful internet-based celebrities of all time, having reached wealth of $1 billion at the age of 26 in 2024. Beast Industries Faces New Employee Sexual Harassment Allegations
New civil claims against Beast Industries have been filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina by Lorrayne Mavromatis, who worked for the company from 2022 to 2025 and whose job titles during that time included head of Instagram and head of creative. According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, Mavromatis claims she was the subject of both harassment and discrimination, being left out of all-male meetings and given unfavorable treatment in decision-making when weighed against male coworkers. Among the more specific claims, her case states that she was prompted to participate in a conference call while she was actively in labor, was given work to do during her maternity leave, was silenced by a male colleague while she was addressing her team, and was subject to comments about her physical appearance during one-on-one meetings held in a male colleague’s home. She also alleges she witnessed male executives mocking female participants in the competition show Beast Games after they complained of not having access to clean underwear or feminine hygiene products.
Mavromatis claims she did not typically work directly with Donaldson himself during her time at Beast Industries, explaining she had been told by other high-ranking company officials that she had a “sexual effect” on him and that “when you’re around and he goes to the restroom, he’s not actually using the restroom.” She also accused Donaldson of talking down to her on at least one occasion, saying he would only agree to appear in one of her video shoots if she brought him a beer. As of the latest reports, MrBeast is presently engaged to fellow content creator Thea Booysen, to whom he proposed in December 2024.
Beast Industries is fully denying Mavromatis’ allegations against the company and individuals within it, with chief communications officer Gaude Paez reportedly describing them as “ridiculous” and “clout-chasing,” designed to make headlines and cash in on MrBeast’s media presence and wealth. Paez indicated Beast Industries possesses ample evidence to refute the claims made against the company, which include witness testimony, company documents, and messages on Slack and WhatsApp. She also stated that Mavromatis was terminated from the company due to underperformance, and Mavromatis was made aware of that reason at the time of her firing.

Controversial claims about Beast Industries and its employees are not unheard of, and they have been deemed false by third-party investigators on at least one occasion. Such was the case of an independent investigation into the alleged actions of former MrBeast cast member Ava Tyson, who had been previously accused of grooming a minor before independent investigators hired by the company found the claims to be unsubstantiated following a three-month study. The company has also faced more recent controversies, including an editor for MrBeast being fired over allegations of insider trading tied to prediction betting platform Kalshi.
