Crimson Desert Fans Have New Free Download to Claim on Steam

Crimson Desert Fans Have New Free Download to Claim on Steam

Crimson Desert fans can claim Volume 1 of the game’s soundtrack for free on Steam right now. The download features 75 tracks from Crimson Desert‘s OST and is also available on the Epic Games Store.

Crimson Desert is one of the biggest game releases of 2026 so far. Critical reception has been solid, if not quite exceptional, with a Top Critic Average of 78 on review aggregator site OpenCritic. However, word of mouth among gamers has been excellent. On Steam, Crimson Desert has retained a player count far beyond what is expected of single-player titles, with “Very Positive” reviews on the platform. Even among the more critical reviews of the game, its soundtrack usually received a lot of praise.

“I Will Not Be Gaslit” Crimson Desert Players Are Split on the Game’s Boss Fights

Crimson Desert players disagree on how enjoyable and well-designed the game’s boss fights are as more people put hours into the title.

Crimson Desert Soundtrack is Free to Download on Steam

Gamers can head to Steam and the Epic Games Store to claim the Crimson Desert Original Soundtrack Volume 1 right now free of charge, with plans to come to major streaming platforms in the future. The soundtrack contains 75 tracks in total, divided across four discs. These discs are as follows:

  • Disc 1 – Themes (The Saga Begins: A Record of Melodies)
  • Disc 2 – Battles (The Fires of War: Forging an Unyielding Spirit)
  • Disc 3 – Exploration (The Untrodden Road: The Far Reaches of Pywel)
  • Disc 4 – Bosses (Before Greatness: The Hour of Reckoning)

By splitting the soundtrack into themed discs, fans are able to find the exact mood that they’re looking for from Crimson Desert‘s music, and hone in on their favorite tracks from the game. The original soundtrack comes from Executive Audio Director Hwiman Ryu and Music Director Inro Joo, with additional composers Hyoung Woo Roh, Jiyoon Kim, and Dongjune Oh also credited throughout.

In total, the 75-track soundtrack comes in at over four and a half hours long, and is a pretty hefty download at 5.4 GB. There’s very little to complain about here, given that the full album is completely free of charge. There are even some extra tracks from the Crimson Desert trailers across the years, going as far back as to include the music from its initial gameplay reveal at The Game Awards 2020.

RPGs with great soundtracks are instantly elevated. A forgettable OST can seriously harm a game, especially one that expects players to get lost in the world. Luckily, Crimson Desert avoids this pitfall with an excellent soundtrack. Whether it can stand the test of time to become regarded as one of the best RPG OSTs remains to be seen, but for now, there’s no doubt that it’s a great complement to the overall Crimson Desert experience.

Although Crimson Desert has already enjoyed massive success, developer Pearl Abyss is finding ways to continue giving back to the community. Giving away the soundtrack in this way is great, but it’s the massive Crimson Desert updates that are really winning players over. The game has come a long way in the month since its release, with several major patches adding new content and fixing tons of bugs. Hopefully, the studio’s post-launch support for Crimson Desert continues in this impressive fashion.
