Xbox Game Pass Suffering Biggest Exodus in Over a Year Today

Xbox Game Pass is set to lose nine titles later today, April 30. The latest round of catalog departures, which includes some critically acclaimed hits like Citizen Sleeper, will mark the single largest wave of Xbox Game Pass removals in more than a year.

Since the start of 2026, Microsoft’s subscription service has removed 30 titles across seven waves. The most recent round of departures happened on April 15, when Xbox Game Pass lost Grand Theft Auto 5, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, Terra Invicta, Ashen, and My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery.

In terms of critical acclaim, the next wave of departures is headlined by Citizen Sleeper, a narrative tabletop RPG with life sim mechanics that has an 84 average score on OpenCritic. The April 30 departures also include Endless Legend 2, the long-awaited sequel to Amplitude Studios’ 2014 4X strategy game. The title had the shortest stint on the service among the batch, having only been added in September 2025. As a day-one release, it was limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass for the majority of its stay on the platform. In the end, Xbox Game Pass Premium subscribers were given only three weeks to play Endless Legend 2.

Nine removals make today’s catalog update the single biggest round of departures since March 31, 2025, when Xbox Game Pass lost ten titles. Combined with the previous mid-month removals, the latest batch brings April 2026’s total to 14 games. That makes it the platform’s largest monthly exodus since April 2025, when the same number of titles left the library. The last month that had even more games leaving was March 2025, with 17 removals.

Despite the sizable wave of departures, April 2026 will still be a net positive for the Xbox Game Pass catalog. While today’s removals will offset all additions from the first 29 days of the month, four more day-one games are scheduled to arrive on April 30: TerraTech Legion, Inkonbini, Sledding Game, and Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era.
