WWE 2K26 brought a plethora of changes to many of the franchise’s most popular game modes with its debut in March. Universe Mode saw some major upgrades in the newest game, with players now able to run the WWE Draft in their playthrough to swap talents between Raw and SmackDown. WWE 2K26 also introduced a brand-new Showcase mode focused on the biggest highlights of beloved superstar CM Punk, alongside an overhaul to MyRise with its new story featuring popular manager Paul Heyman as a primary antagonist. Now, Visual Concepts is pushing a small update to WWE 2K26, aimed at making minor adjustments to the game.

WWE 2K26 1.09 Update is Light on Changes
Visual Concepts officially rolled out its 1.09 patch for WWE 2K26 on April 27, calling it a hotfix rather than a full patch. The update doesn’t make many major changes compared to previous patches for 2K26, with only three specific adjustments to the WWE game officially listed. The developer confirmed it has “addressed reported concerns” with a pair of moves in WWE 2K26, specifically mentioning the Jackhammer Pin Combo and the Corner Springboard Spear. Much like most other updates, Visual Concepts also shared that it made improvements to the game’s stability and performance with the launch of the 1.09 patch.

The wrestling game’s newest update is not set to make any substantial changes, only rolling out small fixes in the wake of the launch of Ringside Pass Season 2. WWE 2K26‘s newest Battle Pass officially launched on April 15, adding the Demolition tag team, made up of Ax, Smash, and Crush, alongside female superstar Kelly Kelly. The free Ringside Pass also added a new Persona for Oba Femi based on his December 13 appearance on Saturday Night’s Main Event, available after reaching tier 40 on the pass.
WWE 2K26‘s new Ringside Pass comes as fans already have an idea of what’s to come from future battle passes. Visual Concepts previously confirmed that the Ringside Pass for Season 3, expected to launch in June, will add Matt Cardona, Brian Pillman, and La Parka to the game. The developer also previously confirmed that WWE 2K26 will receive a total of six battle passes throughout the remainder of 2026, with later Ringside Passes adding fan-favorites like Matt and Jeff Hardy, Royce Keys, and Danhausen.

The newest wrestling game has not been without its early struggles, receiving some negative backlash from fans. WWE 2K26 was review bombed shortly after its launch by fans frustrated with its heavy-handed microtransactions, particularly connected to the Ringside Passes. Fans have also been critical of MyRise’s revamped story, feeling that it struggles to differentiate itself from earlier games despite its new angle. Visual Concepts’ frequent updates to WWE 2K26 aim to continue improving the game and keep fans coming back for more.
