FromSoftware may be gearing up to release The Duskbloods in 2026, but if a recent leak is to be believed, then another game from the beloved studio could be launching this year as well. While the validity of the leak has understandably been brought into question, those who have bought into a FromSoftware pirate game being released will want to know the latest details that have shown up on 4chan.
Obviously, just like with the original leak, these details coming from 4chan practically necessitates that gamers take them with a huge grain of salt. Yes, accurate information has appeared on 4chan before, but as the internet’s dumping ground, the website has also been a home to numerous fakes from users looking to troll. So, while there is a chance that FromSoftware’s pirate game is indeed happening, it’s very possible that it isn’t actually in the works. Still, if everything said about this title is true, players can expect the single-player RPG to be unveiled at Summer Game Fest, and they have a few extra details on what to expect from this supposedly imminent surprise.
Per the original leak, this title has been referred to as Project FMC by FromSoftware internally, with its actual title apparently being Cerulean Assault. However, the latest rumor calls some of the early info into question.
A Bloodborne Remake from Bluepoint Almost Happened, But FromSoftware Reportedly Said No
The now-defunct Bluepoint Games reportedly pitched the idea of a Bloodborne remake to Sony, but FromSoftware apparently didn’t want it to happen.
Breaking Down the Latest Leaks About FromSoftware’s Pirate Game
The latest batch of 4chan posts were chronicled by The-Noob-Smoke on the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, and they both support and clash with the initial info dump. While the game is indeed described as a dark fantasy, action RPG themed around pirates, players won’t be freely sailing the ocean like they do in games like Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. The pirate game is apparently not open-world, as instead of the ship being a hub that players regularly return to for upgrades and rest, a ship will apparently serve as the entire setting.

Per the latest 4chan posts, “the entire game” takes place in an island-sized ship that has “crashed on top and merged” with a landmass, with its final title apparently including the word “vessel.” The player character is said to be referred to as Drowned, which is perhaps the most believable part of the leak, as it’s comparable to the terms used for other FromSoftware protagonists like Tarnished and Ashen One. There’s no information as to when the game could release, which again clashes with the initial leak, as it had claimed FromSoftware’s pirate game would debut just months after its reveal in August.
Players have understandably been quick to weigh in on whether they think these leaks are real, as while they could be seen as adding smoke to the fire, they could just as easily be another troll cleaning up the less believable aspects of the initial “leak.” Those who believe the leak is true point to a previous leak about a so-called Project Abyss, previous FromSoftware 4chan leaks proving true, and the notion that From want to re-use assets to train the studio’s next generation of developers. Perhaps the Cerulean Coast from Elden Ring and its ships served as a conceptual springboard for this game (or is where the name was pulled from if the leak is fake), though obviously, this is just speculation. With just as many players jokingly referring to the infamous Velvet Veil, a fake leak from several years back, the community seems completely split on the existence of this game.

If the leak does turn out to be real, then Hidetaka Miyazaki will be working on his dream game, as a “fantasy mecha type game” with an organic mech is said to be in the works, which is something Miyazaki has talked about wanting to make in the past. For now, all fans can do is wait for FromSoftware to pull back the curtain, though it’s hard not to be excited about such an intriguing concept.
