FromSoftware’s Duskbloods Gets An Encouraging Update

The Duskbloods might be one of the most anticipated games on Nintendo Switch 2, and FromSoftware has finally provided an update about its release window. Beginning life on the original Switch, FromSoftware eventually shifted The Duskbloods development to Nintendo’s newer system. The multiplayer action RPG will feature both PvP and PvE gameplay, and will give players the ability to create their own custom characters, inspired by vampires.

In April 2025, Nintendo pulled back the curtain on Nintendo Switch 2. The Duskbloods was announced as a Switch 2 exclusive and proved to be one of the biggest surprises during the system’s first presentation. Unfortunately, details about the game have been limited since then, leaving FromSoftware fans eager to learn more.

The Duskbloods Release Window on Nintendo Switch 2

Japanese companies have been releasing their financial reports recently, which have provided fans with new information about upcoming games. Kadokawa owns a majority share in FromSoftware, and the company’s latest financial report offered details about two upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 games: The Duskbloods and Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. Apparently, both are still on track for release before the end of 2026. That lines up with recent leaks, which claimed that The Duskbloods will be released in late 2026, possibly in October or later.

The source of that leaked release window was Nate the Hate, which should lend it some credibility. The leaker was one of the first to confirm the existence of a new Star Fox game, which was officially announced earlier this month. Nate the Hate has also claimed that an Ocarina of Time remake is coming later this year. That game has yet to be confirmed, but many fans are ready to believe it, following the Star Fox announcement. A release for The Duskbloods in late 2026 would also make a lot of sense, as it would give Nintendo and FromSoftware time to build more hype around the game.

Traditionally, Nintendo Direct presentations have been held in the month of June. If that holds true this year, it’s possible a release date for The Duskbloods could be announced as soon as next month. While Nintendo is not involved in publishing the game, the company will likely want to promote it in a big way, just as it did when it was first announced. Devoting some time during a big showcase would make sense, or Nintendo could opt to give the game its own dedicated Nintendo Direct, similar to what happened with Star Fox.

Nintendo Switch 2 has a lot of big exclusives on the way, and The Duskbloods could bolster an already big lineup. With the price of the system set to increase in September, Nintendo is likely hoping that exclusive software will get more people to upgrade from the original Switch. FromSoftware has a stellar reputation as a developer and a passionate fan base. A new game from the company should be a big deal, but it remains to be seen how it will turn out. Thankfully, with 2026 nearly halfway over, fans won’t have to wait too much longer to experience the game for themselves.
