Sue “GrammaCrackers” Jacquot, an 81-year-old YouTuber and Minecraft streamer who rose to prominence with content that helped pay for her grandson’s cancer treatment, has been swatted. Her latest YouTube video confirms she went through the experience unharmed, but the incident nonetheless underscores the persistent dangers of swatting.
Jacquot originally started playing Minecraft in summer 2025 as a way to connect with her grandchildren, Jack and Austin, while Jack was undergoing treatment for sarcoma, a rare and aggressive type of cancer. She began uploading gameplay videos to YouTube and streaming on Twitch as GrammaCrackers in late 2025. Her content creation efforts were aimed at promoting Jack’s GoFundMe campaign, which had raised more than $104,000 as of this writing. A recent report from ABC 15 revealed that Jacquot’s grandson has been cancer-free since January 2026. She has continued streaming Minecraft on a semi-regular basis since then, promoting similar charity initiatives and amassing more than 623,000 YouTube subscribers in the process.

GrammaCrackers Recounts Getting Swatted in the Middle of the Night
Jacquot’s content creation journey took an unpleasant turn in May 2026, when she was swatted in the middle of the night. She confirmed the incident during a recent stream that was reuploaded to YouTube on May 19. “It was kind of fun,” Jacquot said, adding that the officers woke her while she was fast asleep. Recounting the experience in good spirits, the 81-year-old noted that getting swatted allowed her to ride in a police car, which is something she had never done before.
During the May 19 stream, Jacquot’s grandson played a video of the swatting incident, which showed multiple officers entering her home while she was in bed. Jacquot said the officer who woke her was pleasant, adding that she does not blame the police for doing their job because they are required to treat every call seriously. The incident is the latest in a long line of swatting cases involving popular streamers. Malicious actors often try to time their false reports so that the resulting police response occurs during a live stream, though that did not happen in this instance.
Reflecting on the incident, Jacquot described it as a “new experience,” joking that it ended with both her son and one of her grandsons hugging her. “I don’t get that kind of attention normally,” the popular Minecraft streamer said. Jacquot added that the incident still had one regrettable outcome: it upset her cat, Katy, who wanted attention after all the commotion. By then, however, Jacquot was ready to call it a night. “I took an ibuprofen and went to bed,” she recalled.
The act of swatting is treated as a serious crime in the United States and can be charged as a felony under federal and many state laws. Federal prosecutors commonly rely on statutes covering false information, hoaxes, extortion, threats, or related computer crimes. Several provisions under Title 18 of the U.S. Code carry potential prison sentences for incidents involving violent threats, with higher penalties when swatting results in injury or death. For years now, law enforcement agencies have warned that swatting is not a prank but a potentially deadly crime that diverts emergency resources and can place both victims and responding officers at risk.
