Steam users should clear their calendar for June 2 because a free game giveaway on that date will reward select users with the 2019 casual simulation game Train Valley 2, which has a 90% Very Positive Review rating on the platform (as of this writing). However, it should be noted that this Steam key giveaway comes with a few steps and is limited in supply, with June 2 being the only day this game can be claimed.
That’s worth noting because many Steam users take advantage of the Free-to-Keep Promotion, which makes various games free for several days until a specific promotional end period. However, this free Steam Key giveaway is being hosted by Lenovo’s Legion Gaming Community, which period gives away games as well. As of this writing, for example, its free Steam Key giveaway for Heavy Rain has ended, and Train Valley 2 is replacing it (which will, in turn, be replaced in June).
Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion Has 5* Upcoming 100% Free Games for June 2026
Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion is currently slated to get at least five games in June, although more are on the way and one has a slight caveat.
Snag Train Valley 2 for Free on June 2
Anyone who has obtained a free Steam game from Legion before knows that typically a queue system is involved, but Train Valley 2 is a little different. Instead, the game is being given away (while supplies last) to those who earn and spend enough Channel Points by watching Twitch livestreams. The livestream is scheduled for May 28 at 12pm-2pm ET (letting folks go ahead and get those Points), June 2 at 12pm-2pm ET, and then again on June 4 at 12pm-2pm ET (a second chance). Both June 2 and June 4 will have Steam keys, but it’s better to get those points up ASAP.

Train Valley 2 is worth the little bit of extra effort, as it sits at a 90% Very Positive rating on Steam, with over 1,100 reviews at that. In it, players experience a simple, casual train tycoon simulation game with some light puzzle gameplay to boot. Players manage their growing railway network, laying tracks, connecting cities, and scheduling trains. As players progress, there’s new logistical challenges to overcome, locomotive upgrades to obtain, and multiple production chains to balance. There’s a lot of charm with a minimalist low-poly art style to boot, with a beloved level editor feature too.
More Free Games on Steam Right Now
If that sounds too complex, which is understandable, there are other free games available on Steam right now via the aforementioned Free-to-Keep Promotion. Those include the competitive platforming game Bunny Guys, the intense strategy game Warhammer 40K: Gladius – Relics of War, and the endless runner Dino running from a Furry.
Please be sure to take note of the expiration dates listed above, as each of these Steam Free-to-Keep games are only available until then. Luckily, Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion is consistently adding games, so there’s no doubt more on the horizon.
