After a huge launch, Playground Games shared some impressive statistics and accomplishments that the Forza Horizon 6 community have achieved in only a week’s time. It goes without saying that Forza Horizon 6 was a highly anticipated game for 2026, as the game scored well with critics and players once it released, helping the game to smash its own set of records in the process.
Part of that anticipation likely swirled around the fact that Forza Horizon 6 finally took players to Japan. While the map isn’t exactly a 1 to 1 recreation of Japan, Playground’s take on the landscape includes vast and diverse biomes ranging from the neon-soaked streets of Tokyo to coastal drives and the nature-heavy Takashiro region. It’s also worth noting that while the Horizon series is known for letting players drive a bit more on the wild side and rewarding smashing through objects, Forza Horizon 6 specifically protects important cultural elements of Japan. Players won’t be able to smash temples, cherry blossom trees, or any other important cultural elements to show respect for Japan’s values and beliefs.

Forza Horizon 6 Players Have Been Very Busy Based on These Stats
One week after Forza Horizon 6‘s impressive launch, Playground Games is celebrating how busy the player base has been in those 7 days. On social media, the team put together a graphic showcasing many of the community’s accomplishments in the game, including the fact that over 141 million hours have already been put into the game. Players have driven over 20 billion miles across the virtual map of Japan, taken 184 million photos, and earned a combined 35 trillion credits. Alongside 19 million Raku Raku deliveries, players have earned over 18 million festival wristbands, smashed nearly 380 million mascots, and created over 63 million liveries for their cars.

Hilariously enough, the post also mentions still counting incidents caused by the mysterious racer known as bowie knife99. This drivatar has quickly become the unofficial villain of Forza Horizon 6 for many, with plenty of posts appearing online about how this AI racer is causing havoc during races. Playground has since acknowledged the recent outcry from fans regarding how some AI opponents are “too fast” or too aggressive, but this is the first time the AI driver has been officially mentioned by name.
While it appears that fans are really loving the latest game in the popular franchise, the launch is only the beginning. Playground Games has not only thanked players for jumping into the game, but also gave a tease about what’s next for Forza Horizon 6. With new updates on the way to further improve the experience, players will also be seeing new car packs, such as the Italian Passion Car Pack in July, as well as two bigger scale DLC packs being actively worked on.

Amidst all the success that the franchise has, and continues to see, other studios are looking to move in on Forza Horizon‘s territory. In fact, Playground Games is about to see some competition from its former co-founder. Gavin Raeburn, having since founded Lighthouse Games just down the road, is working on what he believes will be a Forza Horizon-killer open world racing title. After feeling stifled by not being able to innovate on the Forza Horizon series, Raeburn is promising a big jump for the genre with his studio’s upcoming game, confidently stating that they have ideas that no other studio is working on.
