Steam Users Have Until June 3 to Claim 2019 Multiplayer Game for Free

The latest offering as part of Steam‘s Free-to-Keep Promotion is a multiplayer simulation game from 2019, one with 90% Very Positive Reviews on Steam, and users will have a limited time to grab the game, Drift86, completely free of charge. Until June 3, fans can take advantage of this latest Steam Free-to-Keep game.

As Steam users should know, the Free-to-Keep Promotion periodically makes paid, premium games absolutely free for a short period. Because these are publisher-initiated, they range from the incredibly small indie games to major AAA titles, with two Warhammer games recently leaving their offerings, for example. The latest does fall in the earlier bucket, being a small indie game, but it has received 1700 reviews in 6 years, which is more than many others. Typically, it just retails for $2, so it’s not like it’s a major setback on any given day of the week. Free’s free, though, so be sure to add it to your digital library before it expires on June 3.

Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion Has 5* Upcoming 100% Free Games for June 2026

Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion is currently slated to get at least five games in June, although more are on the way and one has a slight caveat.

Drift86 is a simplistic, almost Hot Wheels-like multiplayer automobile simulation game. At its core, it is still about racing, but more specifically, drifting, setting records, and playing with friends are at its core. Its focus is on fast, slippery arcade-style (again, Hot Wheels style) gameplay while accumulating a score. It also includes over 40 cars, 30 maps, online multiplayer, and an anime-inspired soundtrack.

Overall English Reviews for Drift86 put it in the 90% Very Positive area, although recent reviews (a small sample of 16 users) has fallen to Mixed with 68% positive reviews. In general, the positive reviews praise the low price for the content, the drifting mechanics, the pick up and play feel, and the chaotic multiplayer fun it creates with friends. On the other end of the spectrum, folks criticized its slippery handling, unrealistic physics, braking issues, and a steep learning curve for its drift. But if you think of it as playing Hot Wheels instead of a game like Forza Horizon 6, then you might find yourself with the majority.

Of course, racing games are not for everyone, and luckily 2 other Free-to-Keep Games are currently available on Steam. One of those games is the multiplayer platforming game, Bunny Guys, which is like if Chained Together and Fall Guys had a child, and that child really liked rabbits. The last one is an endless runner where players are a dinosaur fleeing someone in a fursuit.

Overall, it’s a memorable selection at the very least. If none of these scratch your particular itch, then I’d recommend waiting a few days, as at least two more games may come to the Free-to-Keep Promotion before May comes to an end.
