Blasphemous 2‘s second major DLC, the Third Sin, was revealed by Team17 and The Game Kitchen during the Future Games Show: Summer Showcase 2026. Not only is this new Blasphemous 2 expansion available right now, but it comes as a free update for all players. Included in this DLC are new gameplay mechanics, a new weapon, and a brand-new gothic castle map for players to explore.
The Third Sin marks the second DLC for Blasphemous 2, following the release of the Mea Culpa DLC back in 2024. Blasphemous 2‘s punishing 2D soulslike gameplay was pushed to new heights with Mea Culpa’s new map zones and bosses, but now the Third Sin is taking this difficulty to a new level. Unlike the previous expansion, existing Blasphemous 2 players can get everything offered in the Third Sin update for free.

A promising new soulslike game on Steam seems to be living up to the hype, with numerous user reviews singing the co-op title’s praises.
Blasphemous 2: The Third Sin DLC is Available Now as a Free Update
Announced and subsequently released during the Future Games Show: Summer Showcase 2026, Blasphemous 2: The Third Sin is now available for players to download for free. This new expansion for the hit 2D soulslike game challenges players to overcome meandering halls, twisting towers, a cavernous library, and a dank crypt as the Penitent One traverses a new area of Cvstodia. What’s even more impressive is that this new area is a quarter of the total size of the base Blasphemous 2 and Mea Culpa maps combined.
Blasphemous 2: The Third Sin is available now on all platforms except for PS4, with the version planned for release at a later date.

Along with a brand-new map to explore, The Third Sin also introduces the ability to replay Blasphemous 2‘s bosses via the gallery. Players will also be able to utilize the new Familiars mechanic, giving the Penitent One access to three different familiars that will aid them in both combat and exploration. The familiars will give the Penitent One a huge advantage when it comes to exploring the massive labyrinthine castle that is the Third Sin’s map and the new boss added in this free expansion.
The arsenal of weapons in Blasphemous 2 is also increasing with the launch of the Third Sin, with a new blade-tipped whip available for the Penitent One to use in combat and traversing the map. Playing like something straight out of Castlevania, this new weapon grants the Penitent One access to a series of wide-reaching standard and special attacks to use against the horrors of Cvstodia.
