Capcom Fans Should Circle June 25 on Their Calendars

A new Capcom Spotlight has just been announced. This 30-minute livestream will air on June 25 and will provide updates on a handful of already-announced Capcom titles.

For over a year now, Capcom has been delivering its own digital presentations. These Capcom Spotlights usually last around 30–50 minutes and feature a variety of updates and announcements, usually for games that have already been revealed at prior industry showcases. The most recent Capcom Spotlight aired back in March and presented fans with an Onimusha: Way of the Sword overview trailer, a gameplay trailer and release date change for Pragmata, and a tease of Capcom’s Resident Evil 30th anniversary celebrations, among other announcements and updates.

Seven Year Old Capcom Game Just Had Its Best Year of Sales

Capcom has just updated the sales figures for its biggest franchises, and one seven-year-old game has just had its best year ever in terms of sales.

The next Capcom Spotlight will officially air on June 25 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET. In its brief Twitter announcement post, Capcom confirmed that this upcoming Spotlight presentation will last for approximately 30 minutes, and that it will encompass both updates on Capcom titles that have already been released, and updates on upcoming Capcom games. Three games in particular are set to take center stage in the next Capcom Spotlight, those being Monster Hunter Stories 3, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. It’s possible that other Capcom titles could appear during the presentation, but none have been officially confirmed just yet.

Released back in March, Monster Hunter Stories 3 generally reviewed very well, with the JRPG earning a Top Critic Average of 85 on OpenCritic. If Monster Hunter Stories 3 is one of the featured games during this upcoming Capcom Spotlight, then it’s very likely to receive some kind of DLC in the near future.

Announced during the most recent Nintendo Direct, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is set to release on October 9, 2026. Much like its predecessor, the ‘Dark Arisen’ version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 will bring an array of improvements to the 2024 action-RPG, along with a major story expansion. There’s still a lot about this upcoming expansion that fans don’t know, so it’s a safe bet to assume they’ll receive some concrete information during this week’s Capcom Spotlight presentation.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is Capcom’s next major AAA release, and there’s a rumor floating around that its release date could be moved up. Currently, Onimusha: Way of the Sword has a September 25 release date, but some fans recently noticed that Canadian retailer PNP listed the game’s release date as September 4. While PNP has since reverted the listing back to the official September 25 date, some fans believe that it was a sign that an official launch date change is coming soon. This week’s Capcom Spotlight could be the perfect place for that potential announcement.
