From the moment 4-year-old Cameron first stepped out into Glimmer in Spyro 2, he knew video games were going to play a central role in the rest of his life. Though he never planned to make it the focal point of his career, Cameron spent the vast majority of his spare time growing up playing games, and following graduation from the University of Reading, he thought he’d try his hand at writing a few reviews. Flash forward five years (four of which have been spent at GameRant) and Cameron’s passion for gaming has only grown. Whether it’s covering daily news, writing a personal feature, interviewing a developer, reviewing the latest title, or being sent across the world to preview an upcoming game, Cameron adores it all, and he wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.
Nintendo has officially confirmed that four new games are now available to play via the Nintendo Switch Online Classics library. These four new Nintendo Switch Online titles include three Game Boy games and one Game Boy Advance game, with Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 leading the charge.
Nintendo Switch Online Adds 4 New Game Boy Games
- Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (Game Boy)
- Fortified Zone (Game Boy)
- Sword of Hope 2 (Game Boy)
- Dr. Mario & Puzzle League (Game Boy Advance — Only available with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack)
Those subscribed to just the base tier of Nintendo Switch Online will be able to play three new Game Boy games starting today. Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 is likely the most enticing new addition for long-time Nintendo fans, with it finally bringing Wario’s playable debut to the Nintendo Switch. Fortified Zone, on the other hand, is a 1991 top-down shooter in which players swap between two mercenaries with unique skillsets as they attempt to infiltrate a military facility. Finally, Switch Online subscribers can now also play Sword of Hope 2, an ambitious RPG that uses point-and-click-style commands such as “Look”, “Open”, and “Hit.”

Those subscribed to the more expensive Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will also be able to play Dr. Mario & Puzzle League from today. Originally released in 2005, this Game Boy Advance title offers two games in one. While Dr. Mario closely resembles its Nintendo 64 counterpart, Puzzle League looks and plays very differently from its predecessors.
