New Look at The Sims 4 Music Den Kit

The Sims 4 is giving fans an early look at the upcoming Music Den kit coming to the game, adding a multitude of new decorations and musical instruments to the game. The kit will be the fifth of The Sims 4‘s smaller DLC packs to release in 2026.

The fourth numbered entry in the iconic life simulation franchise is one of Maxis and EA’s longest-running games. The Sims 4 first launched more than a decade ago in September 2014 and has continued to receive new DLC expansions every year since its release, currently having 21 full-fledged expansion packs. Maxis has also frequently introduced smaller DLC packs to The Sims 4 since its release, introducing lighter updates to the game, alongside its “kit” releases adding new furniture and decorations. Now, Maxis is gearing up to launch another kit in the near future.

A new post to SimsCommunity revealed some brand-new screenshots of The Sims 4‘s Music Den kit. The first screenshot from the game reveals a variety of different furniture being added with the DLC pack, ranging from guitar stands and a synthesizer keyboard to retro furniture and a bookshelf with a guitar stand attached. The second image shows some of the different colors players can use for their decorations, while also showing new versions of the violin being added with the Music Den kit. The Music Den kit will officially be added to the game on July 23, being sold for $5 and including a bonus of 200 Moola to use in The Sims 4‘s Marketplace.

The Sims 4‘s newest DLC kit will be a smaller update in terms of scale, not adding any major features to the game. The Sims 4 DLC will not add any entirely new instruments to the game as part of the update, only introducing variants for already existing instruments. The kit also excludes an instrument that many fans have been requesting as part of a music-themed DLC, with no drum set currently available in The Sims 4, despite being included as DLC content in The Sims 3.

While The Sims 4‘s music DLC will be smaller in scale, Maxis has teased some major upgrades coming to the game in the future. A recent Laundry List shared by Maxis teased the addition of autosaves to The Sims 4 as one of several planned changes, giving a safeguard for fans to ensure their save files are preserved. Maxis is also intending to implement the previously teased Memory Boost feature soon, aimed at improving the game’s performance and reducing the frequency of lag and crashes.

The Sims 4 continues to bring new content and DLC expansions as fans wait to see what the future holds for the franchise. Maxis hinted at something new coming for the franchise in January 2026, referring to the “evolutions of The Sims 4,” though the developer has not officially confirmed the next game. The in-development Project Rene, previously believed to be The Sims 5, was also confirmed to be an entirely new game, launching as a mobile-focused spin-off of the franchise. While much of The Sims‘ future is still a mystery, Maxis continues to give fans reason to keep coming back to The Sims 4.
