Steam Users Have Less Than 24 Hours to Claim a Co-Op Game for Free

Steam Users Have Less Than 24 Hours to Claim a Co-Op Game for Free

The latest addition to Steam‘s Free-to-Keep Promotion is running out the clock, with fans having less than 24 hours (as of this writing) to claim this free co-op zombie game, download it to their digital libraries, and keep it forever. The good news is that more Steam free-to-keep games are confirmed for August 2026, but PC gamers should always be sure to claim these free games while they are active.

Right now, Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion is confirmed to add Moonlighter and Deponia in August 2026, although when in the month is unclear. It’s possible more games are even added before July ends, but there’s also a good chance that this last 24 hours is the last bit of time to claim free PC games this month. As such, Steam users should be sure to claim Yet Another Zombie Defense HD ASAP.

New Steam Update Adds Long-Requested Feature

Leading PC gaming platform Steam gets an update that adds brand-new features that its users have been requesting for a long time.

Steam Users Have Limited Time Left to Claim Yet Another Zombie Defense HD

Yet Another Zombie Defense HD

On July 23, Steam added Yet Another Zombie Defense HD to the Free-to-Keep Promotion with an expiration date of July 30 at 10 am PT/1 pm ET. Fans now have less than 24 hours before it expires, so they should be sure to claim it (alongside their buddies) to check out some solid zombie-slaying action at the cost of nothing. What’s more, it currently sits at an 82% Very Positive review rating on Steam after 500+ reviews, which is a solid recommendation via the platform.

For those unfamiliar with it, it is a co-op top-down tower defense game where players must collectively build their base during the day to survive an onslaught of zombies at night. Each night becomes increasingly difficult, meaning the squad needs to be locked in to get the most out of this free PC game. Yet Another Zombie Defense HD supports up to four players via online co-op, so fans should be sure to get friends to claim the game as well. As of this writing, there are three game modes available in the co-op game: Defense, Endless, and Deathmatch.

Of course, Yet Another Zombie Defense HD isn’t going to scratch that itch for everyone, so the good news is that there are plenty of ways to get games for free month in and month out. Steam’s Free-to-Keep and Free Weekend Promotions are perhaps the biggest, but Epic Games Store’s free Thursday games are yet another (which currently includes Foretales, a narrative-driven digital card game, until July 30 as well).

There are plenty of other good methods, such as IndieGala, Legion’s Gaming Community, or Alien’s ArenaWare, but Steam stands tall for a reason. The free-to-keep Steam games are not always the best, but they are always on the best platform, and even the worst game for one person is a hidden gem of a Steam game to another.
