GameStop customers in the US have a limited time to exchange any broken or non-functional game controllers at participating GameStop retail store in exchange for the full trade-in credit value of a working controller. Although trade-in offers from GameStop have often been the subject of criticism and jokes from gamers, that has not stopped the retailer from offering some tempting deals.
GameStop’s Broken Controller Offer is Available for a Limited Time
Though broken controllers are not nearly as valuable as functional ones, GameStop is temporarily giving shoppers a chance to claim some value out of their busted peripherals. As of this writing, GameStop stated on social media that customers have until closing time on Saturday, August 15, to exchange broken controllers at participating locations in the US for the full trade-in credit value of the controller in question. For example, the trade-in value of a single Joy-Con controller at GameStop is currently $13.20. Ergo, a pair of broken Joy-Con controllers could net customers around $26.40 while the promotion lasts. However, GameStop users must travel in-person to a retail location to take advantage of the deal while supplies last. Given that each GameStop store has different operating hours, prospective buyers should check in advance to avoid missing out.
