Pokemon GO‘s next season will be Twilight Trails, and developer Scopley Explore has released a teaser video showcasing some of the Pokemon that will be highlighted throughout the event. Pokemon GO has been steadily adding a lot of content based on Pokemon Legends: Z-A over the last year, including many of the new Mega Evolutions that debuted in the game and its accompanying DLC.
Pokemon GO‘s current season theme is Forever Forward, and Mega Evolution has played a big part. New Mega Evolutions from Pokemon Legends: Z-A, such as Mega Raichu X and Y and Mega Starmie, have been added over the last few weeks. Pokemon GO Fest 2026 also took place during this season, which saw the long-awaited arrivals of Mega Mewtwo X and Y.
Pokemon GO Reveals First Twilight Trails Details
In a post on Twitter, developer Scopely Explore revealed a teaser trailer for the next season of Pokemon GO, which is titled Twilight Trails. The new season will run from September 8 through December 1, and will see the arrivals of Mega Chandelure and Mega Staraptor from Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Silhouettes of the two Mega Evolutions were shown in the teaser trailer, along with Maschiff, a Dark-type that debuted in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. A silhouette of Zorua also appears, potentially confirming the Pokemon GO October Community Day leak.

Prior to the theme being announced, the developers previously shared a Pokemon GO Community Day schedule for Twilight Trails. The schedule includes a Community Day Classic in September, as well as traditional events in October and November. The actual Pokemon that will appear in each event have not been officially announced, but it now seems like Zorua’s leaked Community Day in October is accurate. That would leave just the September and November events a mystery until an official announcement. If the developers follow past precedent, December’s unannounced Community Day should serve as a make-up event, highlighting all the Pokemon that appeared in Community Day events throughout 2026.
If Maschiff is being added during Twilight Trails, it’s a safe bet that its evolved form, Mabosstiff, will also be made available in Pokemon GO. Arven’s Mabosstiff played a pretty important role in Scarlet and Violet‘s storyline, as players were tasked with helping to save the Pokemon’s life. Considering that those games were released almost four years ago, it’s somewhat surprising that Pokemon GO didn’t add Maschiff and Mabosstiff sooner. However, the developers have often waited to add Pokemon until it makes sense to do so; Pokemon GO recently made Cramorant available in the game, several years after it first appeared in Pokemon Sword and Shield.
While Forever Forward is nearing its conclusion, Scopely Explore still has some big plans before things come to an end. Pokemon GO Fest: Mega Finale will take place on September 5 and 6, and the event will see the additions of Mega Greninja, Mega Chesnaught, and Mega Delphox. Additional details about the event have not been announced, but it does seem like Pokemon GO‘s current season could end on a high note.
