Rockstar Games has issued its first official response since the GTA 6 leaks started appearing online over a week ago. The developer has endured eight days of daily Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, arriving just under three months prior to the game’s planned release date after a 13-year wait.
Rockstar Says GTA 6 Leaks “Heartbreaking For Our Team”
In a statement posted to Instagram, Rockstar Games acknowledged the validity of the recent GTA 6 leaks, describing them as being “heartbreaking for our team,” and “obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time.” The developer apologised for the long wait for the game, and revealed its hope that fans would opt to avoid spoilers and “wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19.” It closed out its response thanking fans for their messages of support, revealing that “your words have meant more to this team than you can imagine.”
The statement comes on the back of a 15th GTA 6 gameplay leak, which showed off a Lucia cutscene for the first time. While the latest leak did not reveal story spoilers, it did further cement the fact that leaker Cyberleek has access to an extensive version of the game, and it’s unclear how much they are planning to reveal outside of Rockstar’s control. Fans have waited so long for Grand Theft Auto 6, so hopefully, the full game is not spoiled by these ongoing leaks.
