Pokemon GO has confirmed that Gible will be the focus of its next Community Day Classic on September 12, 2026. The event is the first of its kind in Pokemon GO‘s upcoming Halloween-themed season, and will feature some juicy rewards such as Mega Energy.
Although the game is still wrapping up its Forever Forward season, developer Scopely has already revealed the dates for Pokemon GO‘s next three Community Day events. Among them is a Community Day Classic event, which is when Pokemon GO brings back either a powerful Pokemon or a fan-favorite one from the game’s early days. These events are also a great opportunity for fans to hunt for 100% Pokemon or shiny copies. Ahead of its September 2026 edition, the developers have unveiled which critter will be its star.
- Saturday, September 12 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time
Gible will star in Pokemon GO‘s next Community Day Classic on September 12, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. During this time, the Dragon and Ground dual-type will spawn more frequently in the wild. Fans will have the chance to encounter a shiny Gible or one with a limited background. Fans can also unlock the Ground-type Charged Attack Earth Power by evolving Gible into Garchomp until 9:00 PM. On the other hand, what sets Gible’s Community Day Classic apart is a new Collection Challenge that rewards Garchomp Mega Energy and other leveling materials. Players only need to complete Gible’s evolution line during the event to receive the perks. This challenge may come in handy for fans considering that Mega Garchomp is a solid unit against Electric-types like Mega Raichu in Pokemon GO.

Additionally, fans will earn three times the XP from catching Pokemon, and regular Incense will last for three hours. Lure Modules will also last for one hour until 9:00 PM, and Shiny Gible will have an even higher spawn probability around them. Finally, event-themed Field Research challenges will be available, and completing them will grant players extra encounters with Gible, Great Balls, Stardust, and more. Players can also purchase a $2 Community Day Special Research for three guaranteed Gible with a special background, a Premium Battle Pass, and more items. Gible’s Day is the first major event launching during Pokemon GO‘s upcoming Twilight Trails season, which kicks off on September 8.

GameRant Quiz
Gible’s first Community Day was in 2021, so giving it its own Classic edition had been a long time coming. However, many players were also disappointed that September will not have a standard Community Day featuring a more recent Pokemon. Instead, the next edition will be on October 10, and earlier leaks suggested that it coincides with Zorua’s first Community Day in Pokemon GO. Of course, leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, but since the fox-like monster was a main focus in the Twilight Trails trailer, Zorua will likely star in some form of limited event in the coming months.
GO Fest: Mega Finale, one of Pokemon GO‘s biggest events of 2026, is right around the corner. On September 5 and 6, players will have a weekend full of Super Mega Raids, including Mega Mewtwo X and Y. Pokemon GO also announced the return of Armored Mewtwo, a Pokemon that had been absent from the game for years, so fans should not pass on the chance to add the rare specimen to their collection.
