Steam users will have the opportunity to claim a free key for the first season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead on September 9. This free Steam giveaway has been announced ahead of time, but it will be available only while keys last, so it’s first-come, first-served to pick up this 2012 masterpiece.
The Walking Dead Season 1 is Free to Keep on September 9
On September 9 at 12 PM ET, Steam users will be able to claim a free copy of Telltale’s 10/10 masterpiece, The Walking Dead, via a new Lenovo Gaming Community Key Drop event. This giveaway will only snag gamers the first season, but given the fact that it’s commonly considered to be among the best choice-based games of all time, it’s hard to complain when it’s 100% free. Users need to sign up for the Lenovo Gaming Community to claim this giveaway, which will be available only while keys remain. Being in the queue does not guarantee a key, so it’s worth jumping in as close to the start time as possible.
This free Steam Walking Dead giveaway was initially planned to take place on August 19, but was delayed immediately after starting due to technical issues. Not only has Lenovo set a new date, but it also says it made backend changes to its Key Drop system that should make the process “much faster and more stable for users.” It’s an excellent initiative, so hopefully, this time the giveaway goes without a hitch.
