Street Fighter 6 Free Download Confirmed for September 8

Capcom has announced that Street Fighter 6 owners can expect to receive a free bundle of New Challenger art based on the upcoming live-action adaptation. This marks the first time Street Fighter 6 has added actual downloadable content based on the highly anticipated movie, making it particularly special for veteran fans of the franchise.

The Street Fighter movie is set to hit the big screen on October 16. It recently received a brand-new teaser trailer that has hyped up the fandom. Now, those who enjoyed the trailer have a chance to bring some aspects of it to Street Fighter 6, thanks to the game’s latest crossover.

Starting on September 8, players can find a free DLC bundle in the News section of Street Fighter 6. The pack includes 11 New Challenger Images, featuring fresh art for characters like Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, and M. Bison based on their counterparts in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie. Capcom has not explicitly announced an end date for the crossover event, though fans are recommended to claim the DLC sooner rather than later if they don’t want to miss out.

For those unfamiliar, Street Fighter 6 Challenger Images can be used to customize fighter profiles. They typically feature a “Character Portrait” that can be adjusted and edited, along with effects and color splashes that can be personalized as well. Also, this is by no means the first time Street Fighter 6 has added new Challenger Images to the game. One of the most recent additions took place in May 2026, when SF6 added new illustrations based on a fan-art contest. Artists whose work was voted on by players got their art featured in the game.

To access the new Street Fighter movie DLC, players will need to head to the “Customize Challenges” tab in the Fighter Profile menu.

Before the movie comes out in October, Street Fighter 6 fans also have Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 presentations to look forward to. The Japanese video game company has announced that its lineup will indeed include Street Fighter 6, though not much else has been confirmed at the time of writing. Some believe Capcom might reveal more details about the next DLC fighter during the show, but that’s merely speculation and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Despite being in its Year 4, Capcom’s sixth SF installment is still going strong and continues to receive frequent updates.
