Later this month, Harry Potter fans can look forward to a brand-new story all about Lily and James Potter, Harry’s parents. By the time the first Harry Potter book begins, Lily and James Potter have already been killed by Voldemort, leaving Harry an orphan. Throughout the series, Harry learns more about his parents, their personalities, the friends they made, and what their time attending Hogwarts was like.
Since Lily and James are dead at the start of the Harry Potter book series, there’s not as much of a focus on them as there is on the many other characters that populate the franchise. Lily and James are brought up regularly when their history is relevant to the present-day conflict, but otherwise, the attention remains largely on Harry and his experiences at Hogwarts. Now, a new Harry Potter release will shift focus back to Lily and James Potter.
New Hogwarts Mystery Event is About James and Lily’s Love Story
Later this month, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players can look forward to the release of a new Castle Chronicles story entitled “The Girl Who Loved.” The story will be about a “forgotten memento” tied to James Potter and Lily Evans that carries players “into Hogwarts’ past.” The Girl Who Loved will give players the chance to learn more about the love story shared by James and Lily, which should give fans some deeper insight into their relationship. How extensive this Castle Chronicles story will be and when exactly it will be available remains to be seen, but Harry Potter fans that want to experience it should be sure to jump back into Hogwarts Mystery ASAP.

The Girl Who Loved isn’t the only new content coming to Hogwarts Mystery this month. Fans can also check out the Magick Most Evile Special Adventure that will take them to the Restricted Section at Hogwarts, as well as the Infelix Felicis Special Adventure that is all about the first annual Harvest Dance. Volume 3 Chapter 7 of the Hogwarts Mystery main story will also be released in September, so those still following along can see what happens next.
A special Hogwarts Mystery event will be kicking off on September 7 where players are challenged to find the Hogwarts Head of Houses each day for four days to get special rewards. And finally, the Cerberus will be added to the Magical Creature Reserve on September 9. The Cerberus is a magical creature heavily featured in the first Harry Potter book, and with the upcoming HBO series taking fans back to the Sorcerer’s Stone, the Cerberus is a fitting addition to Hogwarts Mystery.
New content is added to Hogwarts Mystery on a regular basis, ensuring Harry Potter fans constantly have something new to engage with. Those looking for something beyond mobile gaming can rest assured that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is in active development and that the Harry Potter HBO series is coming on December 25. The second season of the Harry Potter TV series is in production as well, so there’s plenty for fans to look forward to in the months and years to come.
